Sources: Sprout consider removing denis

Date:

Sprout are weighing up the possibility of removing Denis “denis” Howell from their starting lineup following a frustrating tournament season, multiple sources have told HLTV.org.

The Berlin-based organisation is considering recreating an international roster just seven months after returning to an all-German team with the signings of Marko “kressy” Đorđević and Fritz “slaxz-” Dietrich, the sources said. The pair were brought in to replace Michał “snatchie” Rudzki and Paweł “dycha” Dycha, who went on to join AGO and ENCE, respectively.

denis returned to Sprout in September 2019 after a short spell with BIG

The victories in European Development Championship 2 and ESL Meisterschaft Spring were practically the only bright spots of an otherwise disappointing season for Sprout, who placed 11th in Flashpoint 3, 13th-16th in IEM Summer and 9th-12th in IEM Cologne Play-In.

After a deep run in ESEA Premier Season 36, the German team found themselves staring relegation in the face in Season 37, only avoiding the drop to Advanced with a 2-1 victory over Anonymo in a do-or-die match.

Apart from a brief spell with BIG in mid-2019, denis has been on Sprout‘s books since the organisation was created, in December 2017. The 26-year-old, who previously played for teams like EYES ON U, PENTA and mousesports, has attended several international events with Sprout, including ELEAGUE Major Boston, where the team were eliminated in the New Challengers Stage.

Sprout are currently ranked 10th in the European Regional Major Ranking (RMR) table, with 600 points. In the event of a roster change, they will lose 20 per cent of their points (120) but will still qualify for the next RMR tournament as a Contender.

Contacted by HLTV.org, Sprout declined to comment.
