Another Daily Demon video for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance has been released by Atlus. Today’s video gives us a look at Artemis.
A demon of the Megami race, Artemis has appeared in several titles in the series, and was present in the original version of Shin Megami Tensei V as the focus of the DLC quest “A Goddess in Training” in which she was seeking a training partner in preparation for battling against the Hydra. The game gives us the following lore:
“The Greek goddess of hunting and chastity. She was often identified with the moon goddess Selene and was therefore also worshiped as a moon goddess herself. Like her twin brother, Apollo, her association with archery granted her the title of “far-shooter” in addition to being recognized as a bringer of plague and death. This is depicted in myth, in which she is deceived by Apollo and shoots her beloved Orion.”
