It can be hard leaving the home of your dreams when living there becomes too difficult.

But hopefully that won’t be a problem you have to face in this Myrtle Bank home.

Vendors Trisha and Nick Bullock of Neoteny Homes designed the property at 42 Ferguson Ave to support its owners as they age, with Hills & City Constructions creating a home designed to keep you in it longer.

And in the finest of style too.

It’s been designed to be lived in for decades, no matter your age or needs. Picture: supplied.

“My husband has a background in healthcare and home care, and he spent a number of years seeing how people who wanted to remain at home couldn’t actually do that because of how their houses were designed,” Mrs Bullock says.

“So he had the idea to design a home that people can choose to live in well before they need to be worrying about that, so that they’re set into the future.

“We wanted to build something that was really high quality and make sure there were no steps from the front gate to the back gate, wide hallways, wide doorways and easy access upstairs, with the ability to have a carer up there if the time came for it.

“But at the same time it’s flexible enough that if a young family wants to live in it and have their children upstairs they could do that.”

The home offers 331sq m of indoor and outdoor living space over its lift-serviced two storeys and has three bedrooms – two upstairs, where you’ll also find a bathroom, a living area and a balcony, and the master downstairs where you’ll also find a double garage, a living room, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area that flows out to a covered terrace.

Quality fittings and fixtures can be found throughout along with a range of features that make living there a breeze.

“We’ve got a full smart home system you can easily control from your phone or an iPad on the wall to adjust all the lighting, control your audio, open your garage, access the intercom and front gate, which is just brilliant,” Mrs Bullock says.

As impressive as the home is, Mrs Bullock says its location – backing onto a park with walking trails – is second to none.

“You’ve got all of this space at your back door, and with the balcony upstairs, you’re literally sitting among the birds,” she says.

“The tree next door offers so much beauty and there’s always birds around – it’s beautiful sitting up there.”

Mrs Bullock says the couple are proud of their creation and sure whoever calls it home will enjoy it for many years to come.

Expressions of interest close at 2pm on December 18.
