Musical Puzzler Rhythm of the Universe: IONIA Coming to PC VR Q4 2020

Date:

Last year during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2019 virtual reality (VR) developer ROTU Entertainment announced its first title, a puzzle title revolving around music called Rhythm of the Universe: IONIA. Today, the studio has announced that the title will launch by the end of the year.

Rhythm of the Universe: IONIA

Rhythm of the Universe: IONIA is the first episode in a planned series where players can step into a forest teeming with instrument-inspired flora, fauna and mysterious ruins. The storyline and music-based puzzles are all about preserving the environment, with players taking on the role of Allegro accompanied by their sister Allegra to save the Harpa, a mythical being facing terrible danger.

As players head deep into the forest they’ll need to seek out mystical tablets by honing in on their soundwaves, climbing sprawling vines and zipline through the trees. They’ll be able to perform scales on magical instruments to heal the forest and ride on the back of a giant tortoise.

“Addressing climate change and environmental concerns will be the biggest challenge of our collective lifetime,” says Jason Parks, ROTU CEO. “IONIA will not only showcase where entertainment is headed as a best-in-class VR experience with hyper-realistic environments and rewarding interactions, but illustrate how VR is perfectly suited as a tool for raising awareness, enacting change, and ultimately doing real good in the world.”

Sales of the videogame will also help support real-world efforts with two percent of all Rhythm of the Universe: IONIA proceeds going towards environmental non-profit Wildlife Warriors.

Rhythm of the Universe: IONIA will support Valve Index, Oculus Quest via Link, Oculus Rift/Rift S, HTC Vive, HP Reverb G2 and Windows Mixed Reality headsets when it launches in Q4 2020. It’ll retail for $9.99 USD and feature English, Spanish, French, and German language support.

As further details for the videogame are released, VRFocus will let you know.
