Most Expensive NFTs This Week: Feb 05 – 11

Date:

.

These are the top NFT sales from the last seven days.

1. CryptoPunk #5577 — $7.8M

Collection: CryptoPunks

Selling price: 2,501 ETH

The topper of this week bundles the iconic trends in NFTs into one. One of the 24 Apes of the Punk universe certainly justifies its heavy price tag. To make things more interesting, it features only one attribute. With just a cowboy hat, this Punk proves time and again that less is more when you belong to a legendary collection of NFTs.

CryptoPunks was launched as a fixed set of 10,000 items in mid-2017, rising to stardom in 2021 during the NFT movement. In fact, they were the predecessors of the ERC-721 standard. They have been featured in The New York Times, Christie’s, Art|Basel Miami, and The PBS NewsHour.

2. CloneX #13134 — $1.15M

Collection: CloneX

Selling price: 368 ETH

This CloneX NFT with a Murakami Drip dons a flower hat, a black jellyfish t-shirt, and assault glasses. However, what arrests the eyes is the rainbow smile that for some bizarre reason doesn’t feature all the colors of the rainbow.

3. Bored Ape Yacht Club #3052 — $765,701

Collection: Bored Ape Yacht Club

Selling price: 250 ETH

A bored Ape with scumbag eyes; it doesn’t get better than that, making its way to the top three. The Ape in brown fur rocks a gold ear-stud with his black t-shirt in its archetypal nonchalance.

4. CryptoPunk #9344 — $750,553

Collection: CryptoPunks

Selling price: 239.99 ETH

Not the rarest Punk out there, for sure. It features some common Punk features like a hoodie, normal beard, and classic shades.

5. THE FUD — $665,066

Artist: XCOPY

Selling price: 222.2 ETH

XCOPY is one of the pioneers of the NFT art movement. The anonymous digital artist started experimenting with the newfangled digital art when very few people cared about what was going on. And that is clearly paying off.

THE FUD depicts multiple ghosts in the carefree style unique to the artist. They seem to be eating blood, but who knows. Most of his works are open to interpretations, which take diverse routes on Twitter. However, they have definitely won the artist a huge following.

6. D I S O R D E R — $631,742

Artist: XCOPY

Selling price: 202 ETH

Another XCOPY original that scrambles the brain and the eyes, staying true to its title. The piece was created back in 2019. It portrays what looks like a superhero (or a villain) toying around with his eyes while a cluster of buildings blinks in the background. You may have inferred something totally different. To each their own.

7. Bored Ape Yacht Club #5552 — $497,535

Collection: Bored Ape Yacht Club

Selling price: 157.94 ETH

This Bored Ape puts across his boredom with a creative turn. His eyes are shut, and his mouth is open in what is called a ‘phoneme oh’. Why, he even sports a boring fur in cream.

8. Bored Ape Yacht Club #7381 — $452,801

Collection: Bored Ape Yacht Club

Selling price: 150 WETH

On the other hand, this Bored Ape is anything but bored. At least his style is. He is wide-eyed for starters. (Although the look on his face says someone forced them open.) He has a cigarette. Last but not the least, he has a king’s crown!

9. Bored Ape Yacht Club #9212 — $428,792

Collection: Bored Ape Yacht Club

Selling price: 140 ETH

Bored Apes are clearly dominating this list. Here is another one — a brown-furred Ape that has its eyes replaced with coins.

10. Bored Ape Yacht Club #480 — $425,303

Collection: Bored Ape Yacht Club

Selling price: 138 ETH

This Bored Ape may be bored, as his bored pipe and bloodshot eyes suggest. But in style. His Tweed suit, which only 1% of the NFTs can boast of, stands testimony to that.
