MIT Technology Review Names Xilinx One of 50 Smartest Companies in China 2019

Date:

Innovation is the name of the game here at Xilinx, where we develop the cutting-edge tech behind the emerging technologies that consumers and enterprises are most excited see come to market—from 5G networks and smarter, faster data centers, to 8K video streaming and autonomous vehicles. So we were especially honored to be recognized by the editorial team at MIT Technology Review in this year’s TR50 list, which recognizes the top 50 companies from around the globe that are successfully combining high-tech innovation with successful business models. Announced on Saturday during a special awards ceremony in Hangzhou, China, this year’s awards focused on leading companies leveraging China’s massive tech sector to drive innovation.

In addition to Xilinx, this year’s TR50 List includes a broad mix of notable technology companies like Tesla, iFLYTEK, and DNJ as well as industry behemoths like Huawei, Alibaba, Bosch, Johnson & Johnson and Microsoft, illustrating how advanced technology has come to transform nearly every industry as well as create entirely new ones. We’re excited to be included among these admirable innovators whose vast capabilities, products and services are still extremely interconnected.MIT.jpg

Creating transformative technologies over the past 35 years, the Xilinx team is proud to continue our legacy of helping provide the critical foundation that keeps the world moving forward, and we’re especially appreciative for this recognition as we hit an important anniversary and milestone at Xilinx.

We’re seeing massive developments right now, with our most significant achievement since inventing the FPGA: Versal, the industry’s first adaptive compute acceleration platform (ACAP). We just announced the first shipments of the integrated, multicore, heterogeneous compute platform, which boasts an AI Engine and Network-on-Chip, and provides 10x greater performance and efficiencies for specific applications that will help make emerging technologies possible.

As the next generation of technologies gain adoption to transform how people live, work, move, and stay connected, we are excited to continue driving innovations in performance that impact everything from medical technologies that make procedures safer and less invasive to AI that can make you more secure and comfortable at home and in your vehicle. We’re especially grateful to our hardworking team here at Xilinx (over 1,500 engineers’ work went into Versal) as well as to our industry partners and collaborators, and look forward to what the next 35 years will bring.
