Champion racing pilot Matt Hall will headline this week’s Aldinga Airshow in South Australia.

The Matt Hall Racing team will appear alongside featured acts including Paul Bennet Airshows and the Silver Sharks aerobatic team. The show, this Sunday 7 April, will exhibit general aviation, vintage and aerobatic aircraft plus displays from the RAAF, the Navy, and SA Police.

“It’s definitely a big buzz down here. I’ve been to air shows all around the world and Aldinga is certainly a very special and beautiful backdrop,” said Hall.

“We have brought over two of our Red Bull branded aerobatic aircraft to the field in an action-packed line-up. My colleague Emma McDonald and I will be performing solos and our formation two-ship display.

“We will be flying at speeds up to 400kph and between -4G and +12G, so it’s pretty dynamic flying to witness.”

According to air show organiser Patrick Normoyle, the show will focus on inspiring youth and community engagement in aviation.

“We have pro and amateur pilots performing in their teens to their 80s. We have four female pilots, and even have a grandfather-granddaughter combo displaying together for the first time,” he said.

“There’s freebies, rides, thrills, Air Force cadets, Scouts, you name it, it’s all happening at Aldinga Airshow. It will definitely be a Sunday in Aldinga to remember.”

Hall last year took part in the virtual Air Race X tournament, which was ultimately won by Japanese pilot Yoshihide Muroya, as well as the Pacific Airshow in California.
