Allotments in Lockleys’ Willingale Ave don’t hit the market often.

And when they do, they don’t have anything like this on them.

Vendors Maria and Anthony have just completed their dream home – after three years of building – and although buying another property means they will never move into their architectural stunner at 10 Willingale Ave overlooking Kooyonga Golf Course, Anthony is confident another family will love it just as much as his would have.

“I was looking for something architectural and filled with natural light – that was really important to me, especially as it was overlooking the golf course,” Anthony says.

“I’ve been building houses for many years and walked in and out of countless homes, so I had a really good idea for what I’d like.

“It was my wife and my dream home and we spent a lot of time planning how the layout would work and what the exterior would look like.

“I’m from the western suburbs and I think Willingale Ave is undoubtedly the best street in the west, and it’s really tightly held, so when a block of land came up there, we were quick to jump on it – it was the one street we wanted to build our dream home on.

“It really was a dream come true and it was perfect for us.”

Designed by acclaimed architect Damian Campagnolo and built by Thirteen Commercial, the home offers two levels of luxury living, with the ground floor consisting of two spacious living areas separated by a terrace, and with a rear terrace overlooking a sparkling pool; and a four-car garage.

It has four bedrooms on the upper level, including the master suite with a dressing room, a lounge area, a walk-in robe, a balcony and an ensuite.

“The master suite was really important to me and we based the room on a hotel room we stayed in a long time ago,” Anthony says.

“That was designed to be lived in as well and not just slept in.

“I’m extremely fussy and we really took our time with it and went over the details to make sure we got it right.”

Having now bought another property his mother has long expressed a desire to live in, Anthony says it was time for a family to live out their dream.

“Buying something that from a young child I had aspired to own was always going to be the only reason we wouldn’t move into this one,” he says.

“I’m extremely proud of it. It’s breathtaking and it turned out even better than we had hoped.”
