Liiv SANDBOX beat T1 in a three-game intensive series, continue series of upsets in 2021 LCK Summer Split

Published

on

Liiv SANDBOX continue their dominance in the 2021 LCK Summer Split, taking down T1 today in an intensive 2-1 series.

The MVP votes were picked up by the mid laner and support players from LSB. FATE picked up his vote after delivering a huge performance on Ryze in the first match of the series, keeping Faker under control and scaling really well into the later stages of the match. His global presence via his ultimate allowed LSB to roam freely around the map as their mid laner was always ready to back them up whenever they needed him. Effort picked his MVP vote after a stellar performance in Alistar in the last match. He had a lot of great engages, but the highlight of the series was his Baron steal against T1, sealing their fate.

The first match of this League of Legends series opened up with a surprising performance from the LSB squad, who picked up an early lead and snowballed the match quickly after. Fate was the main factor on why LSB was so successful, exerting a lot of pressure with the Ryze pick and providing backup to his team with his ultimate whenever he was needed. After picking up the Cloud Dragon Soul, LSB rushed towards T1’s base and closed out the first match of the series.

In the second match, LSB banned Ryze away from T1, who would have been able to first pick it. They were also forced to change their AD carry after the dominant first-game Kalista was banned by their opponents. Without the power picks from the first match and the Ryze to back up the aggressive moves they went for, T1 turned the tides of battle and equalized the series.

The last match was the closest one with both teams trading blow for blow. LSB picked up an early gold lead but T1 picked up the pace towards the midgame and picked up a bigger gold lead themselves. While LSB was funneling resources into picking up the dragons, T1 focused on acquiring more gold and experience by farming. Once T1 had a small lead, they went to pick up the Baron and while they were close to being successful, a heroic steal by Effort on Alistar stopped them in their tracks, stealing the Baron away from under their nose. Later on LSB picked up the Ocean Dragon Soul as well and became unkillable for T1’s composition, before finishing the series in their favor.

LSB (8-5) climbed to fourth place with this dominant victory. They’ll be back on the Rift next week with a match against the leaders in the standings, Nongshim RedForce. Tune in to see if LSB can continue their Cinderella story and deliver upset to another top-tier LCK team.

Sage player gets stuck in corner after reviving teammate in VALORANT

Published

on

We’ve all been in the situation in VALORANT where we’ve been taken out early in a round and decided to leave the PC to grab a drink or go to the bathroom. While this usually isn’t a problem, for one Sage player, this became a real issue.

While heading to A site on Split, Sage, Jett, and Raze went up ladders, where Jett was gunned down by the enemy. Raze quickly took care of the threat and shortly thereafter, Sage got into position to revive Jett.

As can be seen in the clip shared to Reddit, while the intention was good, reviving Jett wound up being a bad decision as the player was not at their keyboard and wound up blocking Sage into the corner.

Despite the best efforts from Sage and the rest of the team, which included Raze attempting to move Jett with force using her ultimate move, nothing could free Sage from the corner.

While this was happening, the rest of the team put in work, eliminating all but one enemy. But there was another issue: Jett had the spike.

Luckily, with just 25 seconds left, Jett returned to their PC, unblocked Sage from the corner, and went on to gun down the final enemy to win the round.

The clip shows a good message that even when you’re taken down early, if there’s a Sage on your team you might wanna hang around just in case.

Scalpers are attempting to sell Pokémon Oreo products for thousands of dollars

Published

on

Pokémon fans are unlike any other when it comes to secondary sales on collectibles and it would seem that even with something degradable like food, there is no difference.

Earlier this month, The Pokémon Company and the cookie company Oreo partnered up to release a line of limited-edition Pokémon 25th Anniversary Oreo products. Since hitting stores, these products have begun being listed on the secondary market with some sellers looking for thousands of dollars apiece.

Screengrab via eBay

While the most expensive listings may be satire, the volume of them could indicate that they are genuine. There are 16 different Pokémon that can be found on Oreo cookies within the packs, and Mew would seem to be the chase as all the expensive listings are for this legendary Pokémon.

Plenty of sellers are asking for around $1,000 for this cookie, but if you’re serious about purchasing it, you can find it going for as little as 0.99c. Fortunately, it doesn’t look like any of these extremely overly priced items have sold as of yet.

These Pokémon Oreo products are still available in store. If you aren’t able to purchase them in your region, you can go to eBay and find packs listed at reasonable prices.

If you are looking to collect these cookies or just get ahold of the limited edition packs, make sure you do so while supplies last.

YouTube Gaming adds Theatre Mode for mobile, Member Milestone chat

Published

on

YouTube Gaming has acquired some huge names in the streaming space lately, and the momentum continues with the platform introducing a pair of features fans have been eagerly awaiting.

YouTube Gaming head Ryan “Fwiz” Wyatt shared today that Theatre Mode for mobile users will now allow both chat and gameplay to be present at the same time. Wyatt also announced the addition of Member Milestone chat.

Theatre Mode is something that has been available on PC for YouTube Gaming, but now mobile users of YouTube Gaming will be able to read chat while watching the gameplay simultaneously. Member Milestone chat will allow fans of channels that have been paid members for months to celebrate this occasion with a notification banner in chat that announces their milestone. They can also write a unique message to display on this banner.

In the clip Wyatt shared, an example of the Valkyrae’s stream was shown. This is another feature Twitch has used for many years, be it without the messaging function, and something that fans have been requesting YouTube to implement.

YouTube continues to bolster its streaming service with the goal of attracting more content creators to take advantage of the service. One of the barriers between converting users from Twitch has been the lack of features present, but with these latest additions and likely more to come, the gap between the two services will likely begin to get smaller.

StreamElements raises $100 million in investment funding, plans to speed up development of tools for platforms

Published

on

StreamElements is one of the leading providers in content creation and streaming engagement and monetization tools, and now, the company has raised $100 million in investment funding as it looks to accelerate development on new production, engagement, and monetization tools.

This round of funding was led by SoftBank Vision Fund Two, with additional new investments from PayPal Ventures, MoreTech, and existing investors such as State of Mind Ventures, Pitango First, and more.

StreamElements initiated its most recent round of funding with plans to develop new tools for streaming and on-demand VOD platforms, expanding its reach, and adding new talent to help further improve its platform. This comes after the platform experienced a 233 percent growth, with more than 1.1 million creators using the company’s tools between March 2020 and January 2021.

StreamElements will still work to create a digital market that helps existing creators and fans “turn their passion into a profession.” Right now, one of the company’s main goals is expanding beyond Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming, opening its various production tools and services to different types of creators, like those who broadcast on newer platforms like Trovo.

Another area of focus will be on the uploaded video space, with StreamElements wanting to provide more tools to creators who don’t necessarily stream to create their content and rather specifically work in an on-demand VOD format.
