IEM Fall groups revealed

Date:

ESL have announced all of the groups for the upcoming IEM Fall RMR events, with six events around the world including the 24-team event in Europe and the 12-team events in the CIS and North American regions.

The other three RMR tournaments are four-team events in Asia, Oceania and South America.

TYLOO and ViCi are tied in the Asia RMR ahead of IEM Fall

The largest IEM Fall, the one in Europe, has no less than four groups of six teams per group, featuring all of the top teams in the region and a few challengers that made their ways through long and tedious qualifying processes. The group stage will be a round robin with the top two heading to the playoffs.

Heroic, the top team in the RMR so far are slotted into Group B, where Complexity will fight to win crucial points in hopes of attending the Major. In Group A two of the top three teams in G2 and mousesports will go up against teams like FunPlus Phoenix and BIG, who are currently in Major-attending positions.

OG and Sprout, both standing right on the edge of qualifying or not, will fight in a Group C headlined by Vitality and with an ENCE team that has been turning heads since the player break. Rounding everything out in Group D are the Swedes of NIP, who will play the likes of FaZe, fnatic and the ninth-placed DBL PONEY as well as the Bulgarians of SKADE and Fiend.

The groups in Europe are:

The CIS tournament has 12 teams split down the middle into two groups, with the two top teams in the RMR, Natus Vincere and Spirit, in Group A. The real battleground is in Group B, where the third-placed Gambit will be facing off against several teams that will be fighting for a couple of spots, including forZe, K23 and Virtus.pro.

The CIS groups are divided into:

North America and Brazil are splitting 10 of the spots at the North American RMR tournament, with the last two spots taken up by EXTREMUM and ATK. Currently it is EXTREMUM, Liquid and FURIA sitting at the top, with Evil Geniuses and 00Nation following, but Extra Salt and paiN are incredibly close and very much in contention were they able to pull off a good showing.

The groups in North America are:

The events in Asia and Oceania are four-team tournaments, but in both it will be a fight between the top two in each region as they are far enough ahead that just by winning the minimum amount of points allotted at IEM Fall they will be top two.

But with just one spot at the Major for each region, ViCi and TYLOO, who are tied in Asia, and Renegades and ORDER, the latter leading by 200 points in Oceania, will be playing for all of the marbles.

The same is true in South America, where MIBR and Sharks are the two teams in contention, and although MIBR currently lead, it is by so few points that if Sharks were to surpass them they would be the ones taking the spot at the Major.

The Asia, Oceania and South America groups are:

South America
Brazil Bravos
Brazil MIBR
Brazil Sharks
Brazil Imperial
