How to Unlock Skyward Sword Slingshot

How to unlock Skyward Sword’s slingshot isn’t tremendously difficult, especially for seasoned Legend of Zelda players. For those having trouble, or just eager to plot out their journey, and know where each and every item is. Here’s how players can obtain Link’s treasured slingshot.

Bucha gives Link the Slingshot after the hero helps find the missing Kikwis. Faron Woods is the first place Link visits when he arrives on the Surface, so players can expect to acquire the Slingshot fairly early in the game. Right after he receives the Slingshot, Link can now advance into the Deep Woods and into the Skyview Temple, continuing the story, so players shouldn’t waste any time dilly-dallying. While it might not be everyone’s favorite item, the Slingshot is a Zelda classic and has made appearances in Ocarina of Time, Oracle of Seasons, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword.

Later in the game, players can upgrade the slingshot into the Scattershot, a more powerful version that can fire multiple shots at once. You can upgrade at the Scrap Shop in Skyloft, using 2 Dusk Relics, 2 Amber Relics, and 3 Jelly Blobs.

With this Skyward Sword Remake announced back in February 2021, plenty of fans are thrilled they can play through this beloved entry in the series. And with some Breath of the Wild sequel news recently during the Nintendo Direct for E3 2021, the Zelda fandom is definitely excited for the future, whatever it may bring.

How to unlock Pokémon in Pokémon UNITE, all Unite License costs

Published

on

Pokémon UNITE launched with a relatively small roster of playable Pokémon, but TiMi Studio and The Pokémon Company have already confirmed that the game will be getting multiple new Pokémon in the near future.

Right from the start, players will get to pick one of several Pokémon to unlock after finishing the tutorial.

From there, TiMi has also made a handful of Pokémon obtainable through various events and challenges, which players will just need to complete and participate in to obtain. However, the main method for unlocking the Pokémon you want to use is by purchasing their Unite License.

A Unite License is the item you need to get in order to fully unlock a Pokémon for your roster, which means you can use them at any time in any mode. There is also a rotation of Pokémon that players can use without unlocking in standard mode.

So if there is a Pokémon you really want to play as in UNITE but you’re not sure what ways you can unlock it, here is every method possible in the game.

Free to obtain Pokémon

Starter choice

Once you boot up the game, you are thrown right into a tutorial to learn the basics of UNITE’s gameplay. Once completed, you get to pick one of five Pokémon to unlock instantly.

This will act as your “starter” for this game, which simply means it is the first Pokémon you have access to for online matchmaking. No other aspect of the game is impacted by this decision, other than you will need to obtain the other four options later.

Here are the five Pokémon you can choose from after the tutorial.

  • Pikachu
  • Charizard
  • Snorlax
  • Talonflame
  • Eldegoss

Challenge and event rewards

After unlocking their starter, players will be able to get a few other Pokémon simply by playing the game, completing challenges, and logging in every day.

Some of these Pokémon will only be available in this way for a limited period of time, so you should pay extra attention to those options and make sure you get them if you don’t want to purchase their Unlock License later.

It is also important to note that, if you purchase a Pokémon’s Unite License and then later receive it as a reward, you will still get something from the duplicate. Typically it will be the equivalent number of Aeos Coins that you would have spent unlocking them anyway, so you just get that amount back.

Here are all of the Pokémon you can currently unlock for free by playing the game.

  • Zeraora
    • Free bonus for players who download UNITE prior to Aug. 31
  • Slowbro
    • Reach Trainer Level 2
  • Venusaur
    • Reach Trainer Level 5
  • Alolan Ninetails
    • Day two bonus for the “14 Day Welcome Gifts” event
  • Cinderace
    • Day eight bonus for the “14 Day Welcome Gifts” event
  • Greninja
    • Day 14 bonus for the “14 Day Welcome Gifts” event
  • Crustle
    • Complete all seven steps of the Beginner Challenge

Unite License prices

If you want to play a Pokémon that isn’t available for free via the starter selection, challenges, or events, you will need to purchase their Unite License from the Unite Battle Commission shop.

You will have the option of paying in the basic Aeos Coin currency or using premium Aeos Gems. However, once you purchase a Pokémon’s Unite License, you don’t need to buy it again.

Here are all of the costs in both coins and gems for every Pokémon in the game.

  • 6,000 Aeos Coins or 345 Aeos Gems
    • Charizard
    • Eldegoss
    • Pikachu
    • Slowbro
    • Snorlax
    • Talonflame
  • 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems
    • Alolan Ninetails
    • Cinderace
    • Cramorant
    • Crustle
    • Machamp
    • Mr. Mime
    • Venusaur
    • Wigglytuff
  • 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems

Los Angeles Thieves stun OpTic Chicago, complete reverse sweep to cap Stage V group play

Published

on

The Los Angeles Thieves pulled off one of the most unlikely wins the Call of Duty League will see all season, coming down from a 2-0 deficit against OpTic Chicago to win 3-2 today and break OpTic’s four-match winning streak.

Chicago looked untouchable in the first two maps of the series, winning Moscow Hardpoint 250-72 and Express Search and Destroy 6-1. But from that point on, the series was all Thieves.

L.A. flipped a switch and started to pop off on every map. Kenny had himself a series, posting a 1.13 K/D over the series’ five games, including a dominant performance in map three. Kenny went 31-19 on Checkmate Control leading the Thieves to a 3-1 win in a map that L.A. had to have.

“We knew that map three would be the swing map to at least get back in the series and make it close,” Kenny said after the series. “They were just dominating us one and two, so going into map three, like I said, we just went in confident, just played our game, and just said ‘play like we play in practice.’”

For OpTic, there’s no sugarcoating that this was a brutal collapse. Chicago were on the precipice of finishing Stage Five group play undefeated with a 5-0 record and heading into the final two events of the CDL season with a ton of momentum. Instead, they let a shaky Thieves team reverse sweep them to end their win streak.

This loss isn’t the end of the world for OpTic, but they’ll need to regain heading into next week’s Stage Five Major. Chicago is a team that feeds on positive momentum, so they’ll need to ensure that this loss doesn’t carry over to their next set of matches. But not all is lost for OpTic. The team locked up the first seed in Group A for the Stage Five Major and will begin the event in the winners bracket.

Both Chicago and L.A. will be back in action at the CDL Stage Five Major in Arlington, Texas starting on July 29.

Best Greninja build in Pokémon UNITE

Published

on

Pokémon UNITE feels like a game that heavily depends on offensive Pokémon to set the tone for every match, mostly because the games are meant to last 10 minutes and the gameplay needs to ensure that players can keep a solid pace.

Greninja is one of those offensive options, but the Water-type feels like it can flex into many roles, whether that be a laner, jungler, or even playing some hybrid form of support despite being labeled an Attacker type.

Most players will run Greninja as a standard, hit-and-run attacker that can slot into either lane or a jungle role, though the latter probably isn’t optimal outside of solo queuing in standard games. With all of the options the Ninja Pokémon has at its disposal, you can shift your build to fit any style you like.

To unlock the expert-level ranged Attacker, players can simply wait until they receive him as a free gift through the “14 Day Welcome” event, or, purchase the Greninja Unite License from the shop for a whopping 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems.

So if you like playing a flexible attacker and want to pull off some sweet mixups, here is the best build you can default to for Greninja.

Held Items

Shell Bell

Greninja might be a physical attacker, but all of its moves come out very quickly and, with the Shell Bell, provide you a nice way to get some HP back by cleaning out some wild Pokémon or just landing a few hits on an opponent.

You could swap this out pretty easily with another physical attack-boosting item or Leftovers if you don’t like the way the Shell Bell plays on your build.

Float Stone

Similar to Pikachu, Greninja is already faster than most non-Speedster-type Pokémon, but the Float Stone just gives it another level when running around outside of combat. It is even better for the Water-type because it also gives an Attack boost too, making it a perfect option regardless of which position you play.

Muscle Band

The tried and true Muscle Band is great for Greninja because it gives the player an attack boost and speeds up Basic Attacks while giving them a small boost based on the opposing Pokémon’s HP. Paired with the Shell Bell, this means your standard attacks will do more and generate health too.

Battle Items

Eject Button

Since most players opt to use some offensive boosting Held Items, the Eject Button is the go-to Battle Item for Greninja. It gives players yet another burst of speed to escape from attackers, pursue enemies, or simply keep in their back pocket for some extra utility.

If you don’t really care about having that extra option, you can always opt to use a Potion, X Attack, or X Speed depending on what you think fits your playstyle best.

Moves

Level One: Bubble

The standard fair is present for Grenninja too. There is no reason to choose Substitute over Bubble at the start of a game because you will be getting it anyway and it won’t help you take out the wild Pokémon necessary to level up alongside your teammates when heading into the lane.

Level Five: Surf

Greninja is one of several Pokémon in the game that doesn’t really have a bad option when it comes to their Special Moves. Surf is probably most player’s preferred method to get closer to opponents and burst them down, especially since its cooldown resets if you knock out a Pokémon with it.

Water Shuriken is also solid, and both restore HP when they deal damage.

Upgrade (Level 11): Increases the amount of HP restored.

Level 7: Smokescreen

Double Team has its uses but is more situational than Smokescreen because it is mostly a battle trick rather than a utility move. Smokescreen lets the player dash in any direction they want while throwing down smoke, becoming invisible for a short period, and giving the next Basic Attack thrown out after use a boost.

This can lead to some sneaky scoring, great flanks, or as a way to escape from approaching enemies.

Upgrade (Level 13): Increases Attack for a short period when the user stops sneaking.

Level Nine: Waterburst Shuriken

Compared to other offensive Unite Moves, Waterburst Shuriken is good, but nothing great unless you can line up a nice hit. This might be the biggest weakness in Greninja’s game, but paired with its other options, you can’t really complain about a potential teamfight finisher or initiator.

Immortals introduce Evil Geniuses to the “League of Draven” with victory in week 8 of 2021 LCS Summer Split

Published

on

Evil Geniuses have been on the rise in the LCS thanks to their newly-formed roster consisting of both new and veteran talent. Out of the top three teams to start week 8 of the 2021 Summer Split, they were the only one to walk away with a victory on day one. On day two, however, they were the first to suffer an upset loss.

Immortals walked away with the surprising victory against the EG squad in a slugfest of a game. Though they struggled to maintain a gold lead throughout most of the game, IMT’s focus on building up their carries ended up being the defining factor.

The IMT squad have shown consistently throughout the split that they possess the team synergy to reach the top of the standings, yet have struggled to showcase that teamwork until just recently. According to Oracle’s Elixir, both Destiny and Xerxe sit near the top of the highest kill participation of all players in the LCS at 75.5-percent each, only boosting that score with their performance today.

While the beginning of the game started slow, the focus quickly shifted to the ADC matchup between Danny and Raes. Danny’s mispositioning in the early game made him a prime target for Destiny’s Thresh, leading to a quick gold lead for Raes’s Draven and the surprise purchase of a Prowler’s Claw. But once Raes came online, he could not be stopped—even going as far as to two-shot IgNar’s tanky Tahm Kench. Raes walked away with a large sum of 19,400 gold—the most in the game—thanks to those hefty bounties picked up by Draven.

Despite EG’s gold and objective lead throughout almost the entire game, a poor fight near Baron handed over the possibility of victory to IMT, rewarding them with their second win of the weekend and 19th win of the year. Destiny secured the player of the game award with an impressive performance on Thresh, ending with an 0/0/12 KDA.

With this victory, IMT officially lock themselves into the Summer Playoffs. Following the conclusion of tonight’s matches, other teams are likely to follow suit with qualification. IMT will finish off week 8 of the 2021 LCS Summer Split with a battle against first-place 100 Thieves tomorrow.
