How to get to Mohgwyn Palace in Elden Ring
Unfortunately for those who want to jump into the DLC right away, accessing the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC starts in Mountaintops of the Giants, one of the last areas in the game. From interviews with Hidetaka Miyazaki, the president of FromSoftware, we know that you start the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC by visiting Miquella’s cocoon. This is found in Mohgwyn Palace after defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood.

The easiest way to get to Mohgwyn Palace in Elden Ring is to make it to the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins in Mountaintops of the Giants, use the Consecrated Snowfield travel glitch, defeat the Sanguine Noble invader, and travel directly west to the teleporter.
To use the Consecrated Snowfield travel glitch, all you need to do is spawn at the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Site of Grace, travel directly west, and jump off the cliff to your death toward the right. If you spawn at the Stake of Marika, you’ll spawn in the Consecrated Snowfield. Make sure to get a Site of Grace on this side just to make things easier if you die.
How to get to and defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood
After taking the teleporter and getting to Mohgwyn Palace, follow the natural path to the top of the palace. It’s here, at the very top, that you’ll fight Mohg, Lord of Blood.
Beating Mohg, Lord of Blood is easier said than done, but for starters, you should be around level 90 or 100. The easiest way to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood is to apply Poison and Scarlet Rot to him. He’s a slow boss, so ranged attacks are a great strategy. After mastering his attack patterns and using what works best with your build, you’ll defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: How to start the DLC
After defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood, you’ll see Miquella’s cocoon in the back of the boss fight area. Once Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is released, purchased, and downloaded, you can interact with this cocoon to start the DLC and enter the Land of Shadows.
