HM PREMIERE: Nate Parrish Speaks Up With Punchy Punk Rock Single, ‘Bad Excuses’

Today, HM is proud to premiere punk rock songsmith Nate Parrish’s new single, “Bad Excuse.” Parrish is serving up another helping of punchy punk rock with his new track, available everywhere tomorrow, February 23.

Co-created with acclaimed rock producer Josiah Prince, “Bad Excuse” is a call to stop accepting bad excuses — to use our voices to speak truth to systems of destructive power, whether they’re social, religious or political.

“I believe it’s vital that we use our voice to speak for not only our selves, but those who can’t speak for themselves,” Nate Parrish explains.

“If you’re like me, you often feel helpless watching those in power get away with corruption while they offer another bad excuse. But I believe in justice. Sometimes we just need a single voice to get the choir started.”

The song is the first track from a forthcoming album, due out later in 2024. “Bad Excuse” begins a new era for Parrish as an artist. After fully DIY-creating his first two albums, I’m A Wreck and Soul Surgery, the multi-instrumentalist will be continuing to work with Josiah Prince to complete the album.

Speaking of the collaboration process, Parrish says, “We have toured together in the past, and for my next project I knew that I had hit the wall as far as what I could do recording on my own in my home studio. Josiah has really taken my sound to the next level. I’m stoked on this song, as well as what we have coming out down the road.”

Nate Parrish is also partnering with independent boutique record label Fair Vaux on his new music, and distributing it through Steadfast Records. In addition to the album, 2024 promises to hold more live performances and more collaborations.
