We are currently in that weird in-between zone of the different stages of the Call of Duty League 2021 season. As you probably know, the season is divided up into five stages that teams complete in. As we near the third stage, one player, Havok, is rejoining the Florida Mutineers.

Havok Is Rejoining the Florida Mutineers

Havok Is Seemingly Taking the Place of Slacked

But it seems like the case will be that Havok will be taking the place of Slacked who we reported on recently about being released from the Mutineers. That was a rare occasion in which we saw a player be released from the team with no fanfare at all and no announcement about his replacement.

We had to hear about the change from Slacked himself who is now going to be competing in the Challengers division from now on. It seems that Havok will be taking his place as someone who is actually leaving the Challengers league himself now.

He has been competing there for the duration of the 2021 season thus far but will no longer have to as he is returning to the big leagues once more. This would make him the fourth main member of the starting lineup, presumably, alongside Owakening, Skyz, and Neptune.

We have not heard any other major roster changes for the team so this seems to be the only one that we know of at this time. It remains to be seen how this will affect the team but it needs to recover during this stage if it wants a chance at making it big this season.

Florida Needs to Turn Things Around Now

The third stage will begin soon and, with that, comes the second half of the 2021 season. At this point in time is when much of the leaderboard will be set in stone. Not necessarily in terms of the placements exactly but the top teams will be pretty much in a league of their own soon.

The points differences will be too wide for anyone to really touch teams like Atlanta FaZe and Dallas Empire in the near future, though, that isn’t necessarily what Florida needs to do. They just need to ensure that they are able to make it to the top eight so they can compete in the playoffs this year.

Unlike last year where everyone had a chance to compete and do well, only the top eight teams from the standings will have a chance to win the championship trophy at the end. It doesn’t matter how improved they are at the end of the season, if they aren’t in the top eight, there’s no chance for them.

And right now, the Florida Mutineers are not in the top eight for the 2021 season of the Call of Duty League. They are currently ranked 9th in the standings with 60 points and they have not performed quite well enough recently to warrant moving up the ranks.

Florida Needs to Return to Its Former Glory

They have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league thus far this season with some amazing moves at times and then total mishaps at other moments. Take, for instance, the unbelievable three to nothing sweep that the team had against OpTic Chicago during week two of the second stage.

That was an impressive match for the team as well as the sweep it had earlier in the stage against Minnesota Rokkr. This almost poised the team to be one of the top contenders in the group but then it failed in matches that it probably should have won, like against Seattle and Paris Legion.

The team is so inconsistent and it is high time for someone to come in there and help ground the Mutineers. Hopefully, the return of Havok will be just that to get the team back on its feet. After all, this is the Mutineers that thrived while the likes of Havok, Owakening, and Skyz were together last year.

This is a chance for the team to recapture that former glory and start moving through the ranks once more. It will need to do that fast as it has a tough start to the next stage with matches against the current Major winners Toronto Ultra and then Minnesota Rokkr in the same week. Stay tuned for details on those matches next week as we get closer to the start of the third stage of the season.
