God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla Release Date

Date:

The Game Awards had major announcements, from OD to Monster Hunter Wilds. Santa Monic Studios also surprised God of War fans with a roguelite DLC. It’s called God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla and follows Kratos’ personal journey after the events of Ragnarök. The best news is that the DLC will come out sooner than fans may think.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, players can download God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla from the Playstation Store starting Dec. 12 at 9:00 a.m. PST. The DLC will be free for PlayStation 4 and 5 owners who have already purchased God of War Ragnarök.

There are five difficulty settings in God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla. Players will gain different rewards depending on the level, with the hardest ones yielding the best prizes. People can also switch levels between attempts.

Players will experience the fantastic combat they love from the original game and new and old enemies. Kratos will be outmatched at some point. When that happens, he’ll wake up outside Valhalla’s doors, ready to reenter without his armor or equipment.

In typical roguelite fashion, players must complete challenges to earn permanent upgrades. Kratos will always have his weapons and skill trees, though. Temporary items include Glyphs that alter Stats, Perks, Runic Attacks, and more.

Santa Monica mentioned there would be more surprises while traveling with Kratos and Mimir, so players must wait for what’s in store.
