FaZe edge closer to Major qualification

Date:

After finding themselves in the 9th-12th decider bracket following a middling group stage performance, FaZe have now done all they can do help ensure a Major qualification by placing 9th overall at IEM Fall and claiming 1,250 RMR points after beating OG and BIG.

At the moment, that means they are sitting in 8th place of the RMR standings with 1,498 points to their name and that they require the results in the playoffs to go in their favor so that they can lock in a spot at PGL Major Stockholm, held in late October.

FaZe can do nothing but pray now

FaZe now have nothing left to do than wait for the playoffs to unfold. They need one of the four quarter-final teams just below them at 1,406 RMR points — Copenhagen Flames, Fiend, Movistar Riders, or ENCE — to place eighth overall, and with all four of these teams heading into unfavorable matchups in the quarter-finals against the tournament favorites, Finn “karrigan” Andersen‘s team’s chances are in a good spot.

If all four of the aforementioned teams lose their quarter-final matches on Thursday and Friday, FaZe will secure a spot in the first Major stage already. If not, they need at least one of the quartet to lose and then to finish last in the 5th-8th decider bracket, played on Saturday and Sunday.

The current RMR standings, with the minimum amount of points teams are guaranteed to earn at IEM Fall taken into account, look as follows:
