Fancy Getting Your Cheeks in a Pair of the World’s Luckiest Pants?

Date:

A little bit of luck

Here at VegasSlotsOnline.com we’re big believers in the power of luck. And it looks like we’re not alone. One in ten British adults – that’s 4.7 million people – own a pair of lucky pants, and more than half of them believe they’ve experienced positive outcomes in their lives while wearing them.

We asked people about their lucky pants, and other lucky items they own, and have created the World’s Luckiest Pants* based on the study in a bid to give people a shot of extra luck in their lives.

Only seven pairs of the World’s Luckiest Pants will be up for grabs, it is the luckiest number after all, and you can join the waitlist to get your cheeks in a pair when they are released later this spring – just fill out the form below!

Lucky pants – stripped

Men are more likely than women to have lucky pants (10% vs 8%) and lucky pants are more likely to be red than any other colour (14%). Outside of lucky pants, jewellery is the most common wearable lucky item (26%), with rings and necklaces the most popular.

More than a third (36%) of UK adults say they own, or have previously owned, a wearable lucky item. Three-fifths (60%) of those with lucky charms claim to see better results in their personal life, followed by 54% in their professional life, 53% with their hobbies, and 51% in their romantic life, when wearing their lucky item.

Younger lucky item owners are most likely to believe in the power of their charms

Gen Z and ‘Zillennials,’ those aged 18-34, are most likely to have a wearable lucky item (56%), compared to just two in ten people aged 55+. Younger lucky item owners are most likely to believe in the power of their charms, with 70% of 18–34-year-olds believing their items have had a positive impact on their personal life, and 68% on their professional life.

A third (32%) of those who own a lucky item wear it every day, just in case – with job interviews (28%), romantic dates (20%), and work meetings and events (18%) being the three most popular occasions to wear a lucky item. Interestingly, a fifth (20%) of men would wear their lucky item to support their favourite sports team or player in a major event, making it the third most common reason for men to wear their lucky charm.

People with lucky pants have owned their blessed bloomers and serendipitous smalls for 11 years on average, with one in five (18%) having had their (surely threadbare) briefs for over 20 years. When it comes to washing the lucky item, just under a quarter (22%) clean their lucky item after every wear, while just over a fifth (21%) never clean their lucky item for fear of washing off its luck-enhancing power.

What makes an item ‘lucky’?

Just one in twenty of those who have a lucky item have had it for all their lives (5%) – while nearly a third (31%) have had it for 5-9 years, and 41% over 10 years.

A third of lucky items (32%) are gifted by a loved one and 12% said theirs were a family heirloom. More than a quarter (27%) bought their lucky item themselves and 8% if people either found it, won it or bought it during their travels.

men were twice as likely (10%) to win their lucky item than women (5%)

Interestingly, women were significantly more likely to receive their lucky charm as a gift (38%) than men (26%), while men were twice as likely (10%) to win their lucky item than women (5%). Similarly, those aged 55+ were more likely to receive their lucky charm (44%) as a gift from someone close to them.

VSO – injecting the fun

Andy Parker, head of marketing for VegasSlotsOnline, said:

“Luck and superstition go hand-in-hand, with people often attributing luck in their lives to objects, places, and even people. Sometimes it’s about generating more luck, other times it’s to ward off bad luck.

Luck can mean different things to different people, but the concept of ‘lucky pants’ has been around for generations so we wanted to create the ultimate pair based on the experience of people that actually wear them.

When times are hard it’s nice to be able to inject a bit of fun, and hopefully a lot of luck, into people’s lives like this!”
