22-24 Wyllie Street, Redcliffe

It has more bedrooms than the most expensive mansion on the Queensland property market, but this lavish residence sits in an unlikely street on the Redcliffe Peninsula.

Located on Wyllie St, the two-storey house is flanked by older-style lowset cottages and units, and was built just three years ago by GJ Gardner Homes.

22-24 Wyllie Street, Redcliffe, has 11 bedrooms

It sits on a 1026sq m block and boasts 11 bedrooms, five on ground level and six, including a grand master suite, on the upper level.

That’s five more bedrooms than there is in a palatial Sovereign Islands mega mansion that is currently listed for $45 million and comes with its own King Neptune statue.

It is also just three bedrooms short of the 14-bed Bellagio La Villa estate at Tallebudgera, which has just 10 bedrooms in the main house.

The Redcliffe residence has 707sq m under roof, and boasts a heated magnesium swimming pool, an expansive outdoor alfresco area, multiple living areas, an open plan kitchen with a butlers pantry, internal lift, 8-car accommodation, a 10kW solar system and an electric front gate.

There is also a custom basketball court with a sound deadening surface and urban-style wall art graffiti by Street Art Concepts.

RE/MAX Platinum Narangba agent Joel Harvey said he believed that even homes on the waterfront did not even compare to this one at 22-24 Wyllie St.

“(But) you can fit a large boat under cover and boat access is right around the corner or a five-minute drive to Scarborough Mariner,” he said.

But it is the array of entertaining features that stand out for the agent.

“The owner loves his basketball,” Mr Harvey said.

“And he has an impressive memorabilia collection … this doesn’t stay with the house but what does is the fantastic basketball court.

“It is a team-worthy court, where you can get some friends around to throw some hoops knowing the noise won’t offend the neighbours.”

Mr Harvey said the billiards room with a bar was also a hit with potential buyers.

“The wet bar with beer on tap is a favourite of mine and buyers that have come through are similarly loving it plus the array of other amenities,” he said.

For the kids, there is a playground and built-in trampoline.

The family are selling as their children are gradually leaving the nest but they are hoping to stay in the area they love while downsizing.

It will go to auction on Saturday at 10am
