EG recently announced that Tarik is moving to content creation/streaming, and so now Michu is stepping up. We’ll miss Tarik’s work, but at least he’ll still be around making awesome content on the internet. However, effective immediately, Michal “Michu” Muller will be taking that spot. The CSGO star was reportedly unhappy with EG’s results and benched himself. There were apparently differences in what the org and Tarik envisioned, so he stepped down. It doesn’t sound like there are any hard feelings though. We’re looking forward to seeing what Michu brings to that role for EG’s CSGO roster.
Differences In Opinion:
Michu has played for several teams, such as Envy and Virtus.Pro. An experienced pro, they should hopefully slot in nicely with the Evil Geniuses’ roster. According to reports, Tarik was unhappy with how the EG CSGO roster performed, leading to Michu replacing him. Tarik had this to say:
“Ultimately, I had a different approach to our issues however the team didn’t agree with my views. I respect their decision but came to the conclusion that I shouldn’t be apart of a project which I had lost faith in.”
Tarik’s already a big name in content creation though, so it will be nice to see what he does when he focuses solely on streaming and videos. However, one thing that’s being asked is if he’s going to switch to Valorant. In a stream ten days ago, someone brought this question up. When someone asked “When’s the switch to Valorant?” he seemingly joked that it might be sooner than they think.
That could just be a gag, so we’ll have to see. For now, EG has thanked Tarik for his work before announcing Michu with this Tweet:
“As an integral part to our ongoing presence in CS:GO, @tarik is transitioning to focus on streaming and content creation. We are excited to support and work with him while exploring the next steps in his career.”
We’re very curious as to what the future of Tarik will be. Will we see him join a Valorant roster, or honestly just stick to streaming? We’ll just have to see what the future holds.
