DPC 2021 Season 2; 5 games to watch this week

DPC 2021 Season 2 kicks off Tuesday, April 13 across the globe providing fans with action around the clock. Here’s what you don’t want to miss!

New season, new patch, new rosters, oh my! The DPC 2021 Season 2 will kick off tomorrow and there are few things that are more exciting than seeing the debut of teams with new rosters AND after a patch hits.

There is even more riding on this season since there are only two Majors this year in which to earn enough points to earn a slot for TI10. And if that wasn’t enough pressure, there are no open qualifiers for teams and players that missed the boat.

We are expecting intensity, surprises, and some new twists.

Here are five games you are sure to not want to miss this week:

1. OG vs Brame: Tuesday, April 13 at 21:00 CEST

All eyes were on the back-to-back TI champions in the first season of DPC Regional Leagues. Sadly, OG, placed fifth in the EU league and had to watch the first major from home. With TI 10 not having open qualifiers for the first time ever, this coming Season 2 of DPC Regional Leagues is extremely important for OG, who most surely want to write another page of history by adding another Aegis of Champ. So what to do? Obviously, bring Anathan ‘Ana’ Pham back into the mix. Fans are biting at the bit to see if Ana can save them once again.

2. Black N Yellow vs simply TOOBASED: Friday, April 16 at 0:00 CEST

Black N Yellow will start the second DPC season in the NA upper-division league with a slightly changed roster. Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao will take on the carry duties, while former Team Xolotl member, Jose “esk” Coronel, will play in the midlane. EE has consistently been one of the most polarizing personalities in the Dota 2 scene –you either love him or hate him, however few can disagree that he is one of those players who genuinely tries hard and gives everything with his high risk-high reward style and Hail Mary plays. The infamous Canadian player competed in one stand-in game during the last DPC season.

3. Na’Vi vs Team Spirit: Friday, April 16 at 15:00 CEST

NAVI was one of the teams forced to initially announce a roster adjustment for the Singapore Major after two of their players tested positive for Coronavirus. Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev was supposed to join them in Singapore, but NAVI was forced to forfeit their spot entirely.  A couple of days later, Ramzes officially replaced Viktor “GeneRaL” Nigrini in the lineup. Ramzes has developed into one of the strongest and most talented core players in the world and missed out on playing last season.

4. Infamous vs Thunder Predator: Saturday, April 17 at 0:00 CEST

At ONE Esports Singapore Major, Thunder Predator stole the show and hearts around the world. They crushed top European and Chinese squads and took down the NA second seed team to end the first day of matches with an incredible 8-0 score. They continued their dominating streak on the second day, proving it wasn’t just a fluke —taking first place in groups and advancing to the upper brackets in the playoffs. In the end, they took a fantastic, 5/6 place finish, $25,000, and 300 more DPC points. At the end of the first season, they are tied with OB.Neon Esports for 5th place of the DPC rankings worldwide.

5. Team Secret vs Nigma: Saturday, April 17 at 21:00 CEST

Team Nigma arrived at the ONE Esports Singapore Major with Roman “rmN-” Paley in place of van “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov. Right from the start they struggled to find synergy and had ended up being eliminated in the wild card stage —a last-place finish and no DPC points or money earned. The team felt something needed to change and they promptly removed Aliwi “w33” Omar from the active lineup. The team has brought on board Igor “iLTW” Filatov, who even though is a well-established carry player, he can also play in the mid lane with ease.

DPC 2021 Season 2

The DPC 2021 Season 2 kicks off with league play on Tuesday, April 13.

Season 2 league dates: April 13-May 23
Major 2: June 2-13
Season 2 upper-division prize pool: $205,000 and 1150 Pro Circuit points
Season 2 lower-division prize pool: $75,000

Divisions:

The bottom two teams of the Upper Division in each Region will be relegated to the Lower Division, while the top two teams of the Lower Division will be promoted. The bottom two teams of the lower division will be eliminated from the league.

Triumph, TeamOne secure final cs_summit 8 closed qualifier spots

Avatar

Triumph and TeamOne have claimed victory in the second cs_summit 8 open qualifier, besting Third Impact and Imperial, respectively, to earn the final spots in the closed stage which will run from May-14-18 and offer four spots in the North American Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event.

After easing through the early stages of the bracket, Alan “Shakezullah” Hardeman‘s side faced strong contention from SKDC in the first best-of-three round, managing to narrowly secure a victory in two maps to meet Imperial for a spot in the closed stage.

The Brazilian roster had fallen early on in the previous qualifier, and despite mustering a better run this time around, they were unable to prevail over Triumph, who opened the series strong with a Mirage win before bouncing back from losing their map pick by edging out a 16-13 win on Nuke to advance.

Cooper was the highest-rated player for Triumph against Imperial

TeamOne, who suffered a similar fate to their countrymen in their last qualifier bid, were able to claim redemption for themselves as they fought past Party Astronauts in a three-map series, and wasted little time in securing their closed qualifier spot by trouncing Third Impact 16-5 on Inferno and Nuke in the ensuing round.

Four spots at cs_summit 8 will be up for grabs through the closed qualifier, which will also mark the return of Extra Salt and paiN to North America, as well as GODSENT‘s first appearance in the region after playing in Europe for the first portion of the year.

What does Rook’s armor do in Rainbow Six Siege?

Avatar

Published

on

Rainbow Six Siege features a diverse cast of operators with different abilities and tools to help their team. Some are tedious and tough to master, while others provide excellent support and are easy to use. Rook, one of the original operators in Siege, is a perfect example of the latter.

Rook’s armor plates provide an excellent boost to teammates that can make a difference in gunfights. But a lot of players aren’t familiar with what the plates actually do.

Rook can place a bag full of armor plates each round that he and his teammates can pick up. Players can only pick up one armor plate at a time and can grab a plate at any point during a round.

The plates provide a 20-percent armor boost to the user without penalty, which is an incredible boost for a team. The plates also guarantee players will enter the down-but-not-out stage when damaged instead of instantly dying. But a headshot will still instantly kill a player even if they are wearing Rook’s armor.

If a player is picked up by a teammate, they will lose the armor plate. But they can pick up another plate if there are plates available. Rook’s Armor Pack can be destroyed by enemies, so avoid waiting long to pick it up. Also, avoid shooting it, since friendly fire can also destroy the pack.

Rook is an excellent choice for new players because he is available by default and his ability is easy to use. Just ping the armor pack to let your teammates know it is available, and they will have a slight advantage for the rest of the round.

TOTW 33 Predictions FIFA 21: Who’s Getting in?

TOTW 33 predictions for FIFA 21 are coming in as fans prepare for yet another Wednesday content drop in Ultimate Team.

Team of the Week cards are more or less irrelevant at this point in the year for actual gameplay. Yes, they’re still required in Squad Building Challenges here and there, but fans are more concerned with what those particular SBCs are and which Team of the Season cards they’re working into their teams. Especially considering TOTS cards replaced TOTW items in FUT Champions rewards at the start of the promotion.

Still, expect EA Sports to eventually release a repeatable TOTW upgrade SBC at some point in the rest of the FUT cycle. Perhaps they’ll even make it 84+ overall.

Here are some favorites for TOTW 33 in FIFA 21:

Expect there to be a decent amount of Premier League players in this TOTW considering the PL TOTS squad just left packs. The headliner of the group should more than likely be Robert Lewandowski. Although, if the Bundesliga TOTS squad is next, he will miss out considering he’ll be featured in that promotion and there cannot be two special versions of him in packs at the same time. Same goes for Sancho.

TOTW 33 will be announced and released May 12 at 1 p.m. ET.

5 Best AD Carries in League of Legends Patch 11.10

League of Legends

The AD carry role in League of Legends Patch 11.10 is one of the pivotal roles in the game. Teams look to their AD carries as the focal point of damage and their main job is to take down the enemy’s front line so that the backline doesn’t stand a chance. In 11.10 there are a couple of changes in the bot lane but none that will drastically influence the landscape of the role.

Here are the five best AD carries in League of Legends Patch 11.10.

Jinx

Even though she received a nerf in 11.10 Jynx is still the best AD carry in the game by a long shot. She does overwhelming damage and has a ridiculous attack range thanks to her rockets.

Caitlyn

Caitlyn was a star in 11.9 and that’s going to continue in 11.10. She’s able to pin down enemies with her traps and deal big damage with her ultimate. With the right support pairing she’s a nightmare in the bot lane

Jhin

What Jhin lacks in movement speed he makes up for with huge attack damage. Players that pick up this champion must be prepared because your performance as Jhin will be entirely dependent on whether you’re able to hit skill shots. But if you can, no one will be able to stand up to you.

Kog’Maw

Kog’Maw got a few tweaks last patch that has helped him moving into 11.10. Thanks to the mana reduction on his E his harass is at an all-time high. Kog’Maw is now a bully in the bot lane and moving forward this will be the case in 11.10.

Samira

As one of the most polarizing champions in the game, Samira’s spot on the list could be argued. But many would agree that she deserves to be here. Samira players dominate matchups once they hit their power spikes and in 11.10 it’ll be more of the same.
