Comedian Rob Beckett has been confirmed to host the 2024 AM Awards on May 2 when excellent businesses, teams and individuals in the UK motor retail industry will be celebrated.
Beckett has been on the comedy circuit for some 15 years and has been a familiar face on TV through his work on 8 Out Of 10 Cars, Comic Relief, Children In Need and Sky TV’s Rob and Romesh Vs with his best mate and fellow comedian Romesh Ranganathan.
He and Romesh also co-hosted the 2023 BAFTA TV Awards and The Royal Variety Performance in 2019. Beckett’s other TV appearances include BBC One’s Live at The Apollo, Would I Lie to You, The Graham Norton Show, Michael
McIntyre’s Big Show, A League of Their Own, Mock The Week, The Jonathan Ross Show, Celebrity Juice, and Taskmaster.
At the AM Awards trophies will be handed out to winners of a diverse range of categories including Best In Customer Service, Leader in Diversity and Inclusion, Workshop of the Year and Business Leader of the Year.
The AM Awards finalists have already been revealed (see the shortlist here), but the winners will be announced live at the gala dinner on May 2 at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London. Unlike some awards events, AM does not inform winners in advance.
The last tickets and tables are now available to book. Note that for the last two years the annual awards dinner has sold out several weeks ahead of the event.
The AM Awards judging panel consists of Sally Fyffe, head of wholesale, Micheldever Group; Julia Muir, founder, Automotive 30% Club and chief executive, Gaia Innovation; Sue Robinson, chief executive, National Franchised Dealers Association; Tim Rose, editor, AM; Professor Jim Saker, director of the Centre of Automotive Management, Loughborough University’s Business School; Aimee Turner, deputy editor, AM; and Steve Young, managing director, International Car Distribution Programme.
UHY Hacker Young is the AM Awards auditor. Christopher Macgowan OBE is the independent chairman of the judging panel.
