Major League Baseball is about to start and teams have prepared their pitching rotations. Here is the Chicago Cubs 2024 projected pitching rotation.
1. Justin Steele LHP
Steele has progressively improved each season he has been in the pros and is now the Opening Day starter. He had a record of 16-5 and an ERA of 3.06 in 2023.
2. Kyle Hendricks RHP
Hendricks is the longtime Cub and seemed to rebound a bit in 2023 after some down years. In 2023, he had a 6-8 record with a 3.74 ERA.
3. Shota Imanaga LHP
Imanaga is in his first season coming over from playing professionally in Japan. The lefty has a 2.96 ERA across all levels of competition.
4. Jordan Wicks LHP
In 2023, Wicks earned a little bit of experience in seven games. He posted a 4-1 record with an ERA of 4.41 and will be looking to build on that.
5. Javier Assad RHP
Assad was a starter and came out of the bullpen in 2023 for the Cubs. He posted a 3.05 ERA and will start the season in the rotation, but may move to the bullpen.
Notes: Jameson Taillon (RHP) will miss the start of the season with back tightness.
