The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has adopted new cybersecurity rules, which give investors access to reliable information about the company’s cybersecurity. This way, the investor can decide based on how seriously cybersecurity is being taken at that specific company.
The rules can be broken down into three main areas.
1. Report material cyber-incidents and data breaches within four days,
2. Enterprise risk management,
3. The board needs to be cyber-ready.
