Aussie pizza magnate lists Brisbane mansion after buying $13m penthouse

JUST days after News Corp revealed he was the buyer of a $12.95m Brisbane penthouse, Domino’s Pizza boss Don Meij has put his Hamilton mansion on the market.

The stunning home at 1A Eldernell Terrace has been listed with Patrick McKinnon of Place Estate Agents with a price guide of $10m-plus.

Mr Meij paid $7.25m for the five-bedroom, four-bathroom house on 910 sqm in February 2018 — a month after selling his trophy home at 27 Sutherland Avenue, Ascot, for a then record of $11m.

The property in Eldernell Tce, Hamilton, is for sale via an expressions of interest campaign closing March 13.

Regarded as one of the suburb’s finest homes, the three-level property captures river views and the city skyline from its elevated location on Hamilton Hill.

The middle level of the house features a mixture of formal and informal living and dining areas, a Gaggenau and marble adorned kitchen, a wine cellar, and a guest bedroom with ensuite.

One of the levels is dedicated to the master suite and includes a sitting area, a marble ensuite, and a custom-built walk-in robe.

The additional bedrooms on the lower level share a central bathroom and surround a lounge and dining area and a second kitchen and separate entry.

One of Queensland’s most successful CEOs, Mr Meij is swapping Hamilton Hill to enjoy the high life in a 537sq m sky home crowning Cavcorp’s new Luminare tower at Newstead.

Don Meij has bought the penthouse atop ‘Luminare’ in Newstead by Cavcorp for $12.95m.


Design plans show the penthouse will feature a grand master retreat with a huge walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, three further ensuited bedrooms, a private gym, office, open plan kitchen, dining and living spaces, a private plunge pool, 68 sq m balcony, a huge recreation room and uninterrupted city views.

In late 2021, Mr Meij dropped $28m on a villa estate in the ritzy Los Angeles suburb of Bel Air.

The California home boasts eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, an indoor pool and spa, a home theatre and climate-controlled wine cellar, among other high-end features.

It’s set on half an acre of land that overlooks Stone Canyon Reservoir and has city views. As well as multiple patios, there’s also an outdoor infinity pool and a spa.

Mr Meij declined to be interviewed.
