Apple is changing the iPhone port (But don’t panic)
The upcoming iPhone 15 is most likely to feature an all-new USB port. This means Apple will be finally ditching the lightning port that has been the integral part of all the iPhone models since 2012. Apple could have made the decision to shift iPhone’s charging port to USB-C for several reasons. Firstly, USB-C is a default charging port for many popular devices like Android phones, as well as for many laptops and other devices. As a result, Apple users could easily use the chargers of Android and other devices for charging their own devices. Secondly, European Union recently passed a law that requires all smartphones sold in the EU to have a USB-C charging port by 2024.

X to use public data to train its AI model
Barely couple of days back, X had updated its privacy policy to collect users’ biometric data. However, it is now understood that the microblogging platform will also use public data to train its AI models. This includes data that is publicly available on the internet, such as tweets, user profiles, and other social media posts. The company claims that this will help its AI models to efficiently perform several important tasks including detecting spam and abuse, personalizing recommendations, and improving the overall user experience. To address its users’ privacy concerns, Elon musk has claimed that X will not use users’ private data to train its AI models. However, not all are convinced with Musk’s claims.

WordPad to be finally removed from Windows
Microsoft has announced that that the WordPad service will not be offered in all the upcoming and future version of Windows. WordPad is a basic word processing program that was first introduced in Windows 3.1 in 1992. It has been included in every version of Windows since then. However, its importance was often overshadowed by more powerful word processors like Microsoft Word. A recent survey also found that only 3% of Windows users used WordPad on a regular basis. Hence by all means Microsoft’s decision to kill WordPad after 28 long years is not at all surprising.

Now you can control LG appliance with Samsung’s app — and vice versa
Samsung and LG have announced that they will be working together to make their smart home appliances compatible with each other’s apps. This means that you will be able to use the Samsung SmartThings app to control your LG appliances, and vice versa. The interoperability between Samsung and LG’s smart home apps will be made possible through the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA), an industry coalition that was formed in 2021. However, Samsung and LG users will have to wait till the end of 2024 for enjoying the interoperability feature. The interoperability between Samsung and LG could prove to be a major game changer in the smart home industry.
