Heirlooms are among the rarest items available in Apex Legends. Usually, these unique pieces are a part of the individual character’s history and backstory such as Mirage’s golden trophy and Rampart’s wrench/bubblegum dispenser. As such, they are both highly valued and coveted items as they not only humanize each legend, but also allow players a glimpse into their individuality.

So, some fans have suggested a small change to give Heirlooms the visibility they deserve.

The suggestion originally appeared on the official ApexLegends subreddit board on Friday, Feb. 4. Published by user vasudevvkm, the post suggested that Heirlooms should come with a unique character selection animation that plays when players select that character before loading into a lobby.

Unsurprisingly, the suggestion took off, gaining one Gold Award, one “King” award, five Silver Awards, five “Wholesome” awards, and six “Helpful” awards. It also has a 98% upvote rate with 8,000 upvotes at the time of writing.

Other users were quick to both support and build off the idea with additions of their own—with, of course, a few digs at Respawn Entertainment for how much it would likely cost to make this a reality.

“Absolutely,” Artanis709 wrote, “Heirlooms should also grant an execution.

N0STALG1A-US3R wrote, “Hell, they could literally just have the animated banner poses as the intro animations. Surely that wouldn’t be hard to implement.”

Even Apex Legends content creator and cosmetic researcher KralRindo (@KralRindo) jumped on the bandwagon with their own mock-up of what such an banner introduction would look like.

”The idea I saw on Reddit,” they wrote in a tweet published that same day, “had to make it real.”

Time will tell if Respawn looks to adopt this suggestion into how they handle heirlooms.
