Ancient NFT Project MoonCats Shows Up Again, Gets Totally Mined Fast

The ancient NFT project Mooncats from 2017 showed up and got totally mined within hours as the Crypto Twitter community caught wind of the project, gathering all collectibles at ones so let’s read more in our altcoin news today.

Nobody has heard of MoonCats until yesterday when one Twitter user @ETHoard tweeted and started digging around with the hashtag #MoonCatRescue.”

According to the data from Etherscan, the abandoned MoonCatRescue project dates all the way to 2017 which according to the Twitter user makes it the second oldest NFT on Ethereum after CryptoPunks and one behind CryptoKitties. In the world of crypto-collectibles, these factors like historical significance and scarcity affect the desirability of an NFT. With a maximum cap of 25,600 pixelated cat NFTs, this project fulfills the criteria for a potential NFT goldmine.

The MoonCatRescue.com page has long been defunct, the fans decided to manually interact with the contract using Etherscan to rescue the cats. The only cost for rescuing a MoonCat was the one of an ETH transaction fee to mine it. Later, we saw the platform surging to second place on the list of accounts with the highest transaction fees on the network that day. in order to make the project sellable on various marketplaces, token rescuers have to wrap their NFTs for a fee of $200.
