Singapore Airlines Has Resumed A380 Service From Mumbai

Date:

singapore airlines Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced on Wednesday that its Airbus 380 Superjumbo aircraft had resumed service out of Mumbai. After a two-year break, the superjumbo aircraft landed in Mumbai around 21:20 hours on Monday, March 14, 2022, according to the airline. The Airbus A380 has taken over the SQ 424/423 Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) trips between Mumbai and Singapore, according to SIA. All passengers travelling to Singapore on the A380 inaugural flight SQ 423 were greeted with chocolates and personalised cards, according to the airline. According to the report, the boarding began with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. “This is indeed a historic occasion for SIA as we have been able to bring our legendary Airbus A380 back to Mumbai after a long absence of 723 days,” said Sy Yen Chen, SIA’s General Manager for India. In India, our A380 superjumbo has a devoted following. We’re thrilled to be able to meet the high demand in this area and to maintain our commitment to our clients.” In the weeks and months ahead, SIA hopes to gradually raise its frequencies from all of its terminals across India, and is also eager to resume A380 services from Delhi. With privacy doors, an independent swivel chair, and a stand-alone bed with hotel-style nighttime turndown service, the six semi-private suite cabins offer solitude and luxury. For couples travelling together, four of the suites can be merged to form double suites. Suite customers will be able to choose between Dom Perignon or Krug Champagnes, sleeping suits and Lalique luxury toiletries, as well as meals served on fine linen and Wedgewood China, as per the airline. The business class seats can be merged to make fully lie-flat double beds with direct aisle access, all of which are forward-facing. Award-winning cuisine, complete in-flight entertainment, and cabin crew service are available in every cabin. “With its increased seat capacity, we are convinced that the A380 will be the preferred choice for our passengers seeking pleasant and safe quarantine-free travel to Singapore from both Mumbai and Delhi,” Chen added. We are excited to welcome our customers back on board the world’s largest passenger aircraft, where they will be able to experience our world-class product and services once more.” In October 2007, SIA became the first worldwide carrier to operate the A380 superjumbo. The airline launched a multi-million-dollar cabin product enhancement for its A380 in 2017, following a four-year development cycle. On September 1, 2019, the redesigned cabin made its debut in India.
