$300K worth of meth, marijuana seized in Yadkinville

A Yadkinville man was arrested Wednesday in what authorities say was one of the largest drug seizures in the town in years. Officers with the Yadkinville Police Department arrested Eduardo Aguilar Gutierrez, age 55, following execution of a search warrant earlier last month.

Gutierrez was charged with felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and felony accessory after the fact of trafficking schedule II controlled substances. As a result of the search, more than six pounds of methamphetamine were located and seized. In addition, 242 grams of marijuana were also seized during the search.

Gutierrez was given a bond of $15,000 and is being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center. Gutierrez’s next court date is Aug. 15.

YPD Chief Randy Dimmette said this is the largest seizure of methamphetamine in the town during his law enforcement career. The estimated street value of all the drugs seized would be over $300,000.

According to the Yadkinville Police Department. the investigation is ongoing in conjunction with additional jurisdictions. More suspects and charges are expected in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
