The second of two MCREL items. Some classroom resources and professional learning opportunities that teachers might find useful.
Dear Michael,What goals have you set for your students this year? Perhaps you’re working toward higher levels of student achievement, deeper understanding, equitable outcomes, or more motivated, engaged learning. The right set of teaching strategies can help you achieve these goals and more. The good news is that these strategies are not secret nor beyond the reach of educators; you most likely already use many of them. |

Our latest analysis of effective instructional strategies has led us to update our longstanding Classroom Instruction That Works recommendations and professional learning resources.
In our newest book, The New Classroom Instruction That Works, we identify 14 specific strategies that teachers in all grade levels and subject areas can use to deliver best first instruction, spark student curiosity, and promote deep, meaningful, and lasting learning. Each strategy is backed by a solid foundation of evidence, drawing on studies that meet What Works Clearinghouse standards.
