Two of the most progressive and cutting edge technologies today are blockchain and VR (virtual reality). They are the next level of the internet and interaction in the gaming industry which itself is evolving in quantum leaps by the day. And these characters are now being housed on the blockchain as “non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that can be bought, traded and integrated into actual popular games. And by making all the technical aspects of the blockchain involvement discreet – like the wallet, transactions and tokenization – thus removing the entry hurdle for newcomers, ECOMI could well be ushering the way for mainstream adoption on a mass scale of the new era of blockchain technology.
NFTs, as the name suggests, are a particular type of cryptographic token that is not interchangeable for any other because it has unique qualities. It is a one-of-a-kind token, unlike say bitcoin or most other tokens for example, where one bitcoin is interchangeable with any other bitcoin because they are all the same. Here each character becomes an original unique NFT and can be traded or sold as such on the blockchain. These new digital collectables will allow us all to own our very own animated characters.
Crypto-kitties was a similar concept launched on the Ethereum blockchain already as ERC721 tokens.
This is something similar but simultaneously a whole lot more and it will appeal to kids and adults alike. There is a huge multi-billion dollar global industry just about to take off right now with the digitalization of these collectible animated characters. As it is the collectibles industry already generates around $200 billion a year. Up until now there have been some Apps that have delivered similar such collectable characters in a 3D format, like cards and action figures, but now with the addition of next level augmented reality or virtual reality, ECOMI is set to change the way we are able to interact with our characters once and for all.

Now even the Mario Brothers or Zelda will come alive before you as you use the AR technology to bring animate them. Pokemon Go has become hugely popular globally over the recent years and clearly suggests an equally huge potential for the digital equivalent, where trading or selling is expertly facilitated on the digital platform.
Even more importantly these NFTs can become particularly good investment opportunities as already seen in Crypto Kitties.
This will be even more evident with established household characters that we all know already. And with the ease of access or smooth onramp via iOS and Android Apps customers will have little stopping them from jumping on board.
