Earable Neuroscience, a Colorado-US based tech company, has announced a strategic partnership with electronics distributor Excelpoint to be an exclusive procurement partner and accelerate the roll out of its wearable sleep device FRENZ Brainband.

FRENZ Brainband, which is in the final stages of commercialisation, is a wearable device that can track and stimulate brain activities whilst providing personalised feedback with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) content. The device uses artificial intelligence (AI) to continuously fine-tune parameters for individuals.

Holding 15 global patents, FRENZ Brainband’s electronics components will be produced by Singapore-based Excelpoint. The company also serves electronics groups such as Samsung, Epson, and Panasonic.

“Earable Neuroscience’s vision is to make the daily benefits of neuroscience accessible to billions of people to enhance their cognitive functions and unlock the brain’s potential, improving productivity, mental wellbeing, and quality of life,” said Dr. Tam Vu, founder, and CEO of Earable Neuroscience.

“Excelpoint’s global expertise and ecosystem in electronic components and supply chain management makes them the ideal partner to help us to secure the scalability of this vision.”

PlanetSpark, the entrepreneurial and strategic investment arm of Excelpoint, is currently exploring options to make an investment in Earable Neuroscience.

Sleep Foundation estimates 50-70 million people in the US suffer from a type of sleep disorder. The global wearable technology market is predicted to be worth $156bn by 2024 according to GlobalData, and devices that track sleep parameters is an area that is seeing much innovation.

Sleep disorders are increasing and individuals are feeling more empowered to take charge of personal health. Sleep devices have capabilities to monitor various parameters and a sub-section at market claim to improve sleep – SmartSleep Deep Sleep from Philips, for instance, has generated public interest.

Whilst devices that only track but improve sleep have the capability to become a permanent fixture at night in many homes, their price tag might limit their proliferation – many devices sell for upwards of $400.
