VStreamer Live is a fully standalone Quest VTubing studio that lets you stream directly to YouTube.
VTubing refers to livestreaming as a virtual avatar, usually driven by your tracked body movements, rather than traditional livestreaming via a webcam. VTubers often use a character name rather than their real-world identity.
Until now, VTubing from VR has required using a PC (sometimes even multiple PCs or other devices) but VStreamer Live is a fully functional VTubing studio in a standalone Meta Quest app. Without any other device, you can stream a head-on third-person view of your avatar to YouTube, Twitch, or any other platform with RTMP support such as TikTok.
You can use your Meta Avatar, Ready Player Me avatar, or any VRM avatar – the same format used by VRChat. On Quest Pro the avatar eyes and facial expressions are driven by the headset’s eye and face tracking sensors.
The app has an integrated web browser you can use to download 2D or 360-degree images to use as a background, and includes 3D props you can use during the stream.
Quest 2 and Quest Pro should be able to handle 30FPS streaming, while Quest 3 should be able to handle up to 60FPS.
VStreamer Live is available now on Quest App Lab. It’s free to use, but your stream will have a watermark. For $6/month you can remove that watermark, see YouTube and Twitch live chat in-headset, use the built-in web browser as your background, and use the Perception Neuron, Mocopi, or Optitrack full body tracking equipment.
