sh1ro was named the MVP of IEM Katowice 2021 after pushing Gambit, who were the lowest-ranked team of the prestigious tournament, to secure the title. The Russian squad won six series in a row after losing to Evil Geniuses in the opening round, which culminated with them defeating the favorites Virtus.pro 3-1 in the grand final.
sh1ro won his first MVP award
The 19-year-old AWPer was by far the most impactful player in IEM Katowice 2021, having won 19 clutches throughout the event. sh1ro also led the tournament’s stats charts in other three different categories: K/D difference (+111), deaths per round (0.48), and damage difference per round (+20).
