If at first you don’t succeed, turn into a wolf. That’s the life lesson that The Wolf Among Us 2's first full trailer imparts.

We got wind of the upcoming trailer a few days ago and, lo and behold, it was unveiled right on time. Telltale Games (not quite the same company as the original Telltale Games) also went behind the scenes with a 20 minute video talking about how the game came to be, eight years after the episodic original was released.

But it’s the first trailer (if you don’t count the very brief teaser) that’s really got our attention. It shows protagonist Bigby heading into a motel room for what looks to be a simple job, only to run into real trouble. And by “real trouble”, we mean The Tin Man. Hang on.. isn’t he from the Wizard of Oz? Yes. The Fables series features characters from a massive number of stories so there’s no telling who will turn up.

After being thrown around a bit, Bigby switches from his human form to his wolf form and that’s where the trailer ends. Will he succeed? One of the best things about the Fables universe is that no matter how much of a badass you are, there’s always the chance there’s someone bigger and badder.

The trailer and the behind the scenes video don’t, unfortunately, show any real gameplay and there’s probably a reason for that. Telltale have confirmed The Wolf Among Us 2 won’t be released in 2023 so it may be in a state that’s not easy to show off.

Con sói giữa chúng ta 2, or The Wolf Among Us 2: A Telltale Series to give it its full title, is being released as one single game instead of episodically so we’ll have to wait till next year to get our hands on it. But the reveal that Big Bad Wolf Bigby is forced to sit through anger management sessions, having been suspended from his job, left us grinning.

The Wolf Among Us 2 is set to arrive some time next year, clawing its way onto PC and console.
