Use these Cypher one-way lineups to rain kills on Split

Avatar

Published

on

Cypher’s tripwire is the perfect antidote to deal with aggressive enemies on Split. His unique cages are just as effective, new lineups demonstrate.

Valorant has specifically levied blocking sights on controllers, but a few other agents are also gifted with unique smokes. Cypher is essentially a Sentinel, but his hollow cage shrouds entries and rackets when an enemy comes in contact with the milky grey ring. While his smokes are helpful on all maps, they become essential on a location like Split where a cage can easily block narrow entries.

Cypher can lure enemies into his trap by tactical combinations of tripwire and smoke on the attacker side. Placing them strategically on Split can help your teammates defend a site effectively, Reddit user u/theIdiotGoat shows how.

For the first one-way on B site, attach yourself with the grey bar near the entrance and place your crosshair at the wooden beam, as shown in the image.

Throw the cage and deploy it at enemy sound cue. The hollow zone will create a one-way angle for you, providing a clear view of the B entryway. The enemies will only see Cypher’s cage, ultimately bringing them into your crosshair.

For A site, align your crosshair with the pillar and aim at the dark area on the ledge. Throw the cage and move into the back of the site to view enemies crossing A main.

This lineup works better when combined with a simple tripwire that will daze incoming attackers. Place your trip at the edge of the box and then move back into the same position. Enemies usually don’t expect any hindrance at this angle as they’re erratically rushing in, which is why this tripwire works most of the time. Activate your cage at the sound cue to drop kills on concussed enemies.

The final lineup is for A haven, and it is one of the most effective one-ways on Split to use when you have an Operator on you. For this setup, attach yourself to the corner of the tower entrance, and aim at the middle of the logo’s edge, as shown in the image.

Throw the cage and move back inside towers and equip the Operator. Upon activation, you’ll get a clear peek of enemies’ lower body with Operator scoped in. This is a tricky lineup, but it’s worth the effort to contest towers with an OP.

MSI 2021: Rumble stage scores and standings

Avatar

Riot introduced a new format for this year’s Mid-Season Invitational, giving League of Legends teams more of an incentive to perform on the international stage by scrapping the tedious play-ins and adding a bonus prize for the winner.

There’s the group stage, which involved 11 teams from 11 regions and included a quadruple round-robin in Group A and best-of-one double round-robin in Groups B and C. And then there’s the rumble and knockout stage.

In the rumble stage, the two top teams from each group will play another best-of-one double round-robin to decide which four teams make it to the knockout stage, where they’ll play a pair of best-of-five matches to crown the champion of MSI 2021.

Here are the scores, standings, and results for the rumble stage at MSI 2021.

Blizzard lowers cost of cloning a character in WoW Classic

Avatar

Published

on

After “careful consideration,” Blizzard has decided to lower the cost of cloning a character in World of Warcraft Classic to $15, the developer revealed today.

Beginning May 18 with the launch of the Burning Crusade Classic pre-patch, players will have to choose whether to progress their characters to TBC, which comes out on June 1, or continue to play WoW Classic content on a new 1-60 “Classic Era” realm.

The service provides players with a second copy of a character in an earlier version of the game. Blizzard’s “concept” of the value of this service was “largely based” on how the developer prices other optional items and services. The original price to use this character closing service was $35 per character.

But after backlash from the community with big names like Asmongold speaking out about the paid service, describing it as “milking” players out of their money, Blizzard has had to rethink its strategy.

“A lower price will likely still accomplish our goals with the new service, while allowing many more players to explore the option of players characters on both Classic Era and Burning Crusade Classic realms,” Blizzard said.

The TBC pre-patch is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, May 18. It will introduce the Blood Elf race to the Horde and Draenei to the Alliance as well as a paid level 58 boost leading up to the grand opening of the Dark Portal on June 1.
