On July 13 at 9:30 AM, the Asia Society of Northern California is sponsoring a discussion with a group of international journalists on   Briefing on US-China Technologic Competition and Its Global Implication and  Opportunities and Challenges for Rapidly Growing Southeast Asia.  I will be joined by Anja Manuel of Rice, Hadley, Gates & Manuel LLC, former Ambassador to Myanmar and Indonesia, Scott Marciel, and Consul General of Viet Nam Hoang Anh Tuan. This is an in-person event being managed by the Asia Society.  Registration is in person and is available here.

On July 13 at 5:00 PM, the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology will host a 60-minute plus discussion on traveling to China, including observations on the state of the economy, educational engagement, the importance of Track II dialogues, and the current state of US-China relations on intellectual property.  We will be joined by former Ambassador Max Baucus, former CAFC Chief Judge Randall R. Rader, Andy Rothman of Matthews Asia, Elaine Wu of USPTO, and Mike Mangelson, who is being posted to Beijing from USPTO.  Registration is here.  The program is virtual, and there is no admission charge.

On August 7 at 9 AM, BCLT will host a discussion on the current controversy over renewing the US-China Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement.  Our keynote speaker will be Prof. John Holdren of the Kennedy School.  Prof. Holdren formerly served as Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.  He will be joined by Rebecca Keiser (National Science Foundation), Deborah Seligsohn (Villanova University), Denis Simon (University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill), Paul Triolo (Albright Stonebridge), Caroline Wagner (Ohio State University), and myself.  Registration is here.  The program is virtual, and there is no admission charge.
