Amadeus Capital Partners has hit a £110m final close for its latest early stage, deeptech investment fund.
Amadeus V Technology Fund was boosted by a cornerstone commitment by British Patient Capital, the UK’s largest investor in venture capital and venture growth opportunities.
The firm said Fund V would target seed and Series A startups “seeking to improve the way we live, work and interact through science and engineering-led innovation”.
Areas of interest include AI and machine learning, autonomous systems, human-computer interfaces, digital health, quantum technologies and enterprise SaaS and security.
The fund has been tapped for 16 investments to date, including Xampla, which looks to replace single-use and micro-plastics with plant protein material, quantum software company Riverlane and cell and gene therapy manufacturing specialist Ori Biotech.

Amadeus has raised more than $1bn of investment capital since 1997, and backed over 170 companies.
Big successes for the firm to date include cybersecurity business ForeScout, B2B online marketplace IndiaMART and speech recognition company VocalIQ.
Recent investments have included leading a £1.4m seed financing round for visual data security and privacy business Pimloc.
