The VR Game Launch Roundup: The Stars Align in VR

It’s the end of the week so that means it’s time to see what virtual reality (VR) titles are due for release in the coming 7 days. Once again studios are about to do VR fans proud with a nice varied mix of experiences, whether that’s engrossing you in expansive storylines or getting you moving.

Tarzan VR

Tarzan VR – Stonepunk Studios

The first of two major IP’s to launch in the coming days, head into the jungle to become one of the earliest comic book heroes in Tarzan VR. Developed by Stonepunk Studios and published by Fun Train (The Exorcist: Legion VR), Tarzan VR is an episodic adventure with the first two instalments arriving at the same time, allowing you to swing through the trees and take on invading mercenaries.

PowerBeatsVR – Five Mind Creations

For those who love their VR-based rhythm-action videogames comes PowerBeatsVR. The title will be leaving Early Access on Steam next week, adding new features such as modes, more songs and environments. Gameplay is all about boxing, dodging and squatting to the energetic beat of the music, where you can even use weapons to vary the experience.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – ILMxLAB

So the big one. ILMxLAB returns with Oculus Studios for Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge a unique adventure set on the planet of Batuu with its story taking place between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Head out on different missions and meet some beloved characters from the franchise.

Shuttle Commander –
Immersive VR Education

An educational experience first released for PlayStation VR last year, Shuttle Commander sees you command NASA’s Space Shuttle taking it on various missions to the Hubble Space Telescope. Part physics-based flight simulator you will need to land it at a number of real-world locations, such as Kennedy Space Centre, White Sands Air Force Base and Edwards Air Force Base.

Stargaze – Played With Fire

Another cosmic VR videogame for November, this time it’s Stargaze from Played With Fire. A relaxed puzzler, you’re an astronomer gazing at the stars through their telescope, discovering new worlds and unlocking their secrets via physical controls on the telescope. You can then take pictures and record your findings.
