Between 19 and 22 October, a drone performed rehearsals in transporting medical material between the sampling center of S. Marinella (Rome) to the analysis center of Palidoro (Rome) and vice versa, more than 32 km away, using an automatic control mode beyond the operator’s field of view (BVLOS – Beyond Visual Line of Sight).
Electric propulsion and cloud-based platform
Biological and biomedical samples were transported for over 30 km in an electrically powered, remote-piloting aircraft. The advantages of using this technology include not only the low ecological and acoustic impact but also reduced delivery times and costs. During the experimental flight, Telespazio’s T-DROMES cloud-based digital platform was used to deliver end-to-end services.
