Unless you’re living under a rock, you should have heard the word that psychedelics are becoming the new medical darling, with the idea of a legalization on its way. What does this mean though? Will we all be tripping on acid, or going to ayahuasca ceremonies, or playing around with magic mushrooms? Well, its possible, […]

Where To Find Springy Mushrooms In Pokemon Legends: Arceus For Mushroom Cake Marketing

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is all about capturing and battling wild Pokemon, but there's also a heavy crafting element in the game. You'll be making your own Poke Balls in the field as well as lots of different types of bait to attract wild Pokemon so you can distract them for a catch or make a quick getaway. One of the first sidequests, Mushroom Cake Marketing (Request 6), asks you to find a particular fungus called a Springy Mushroom so you can make a little Pokemon treat. Here's how to get a Springy Mushroom.

Mushroom Cake Marketing Request

To start the side quest you'll need to talk with Morel, a villager who hangs out near the Fieldlands Camp in the Obsidian Fieldlands area. You'll need to have completed a handful of main story quests before he'll show up. Once you do, he's on a small hill just next to the camp, and he can be easy to miss since he's standing symmetrically to a Galaxy Team guard. From behind, you might think they're just dual sentries standing watch, but Morel is in fact a quest giver.

Morel wants you to bring him a Springy Mushroom so you can craft his special Mushroom Cake recipe. You may already have a Springy Mushroom in your inventory, since they're not too hard to find as you explore and farm for materials in the regular course of the game. If, however, you haven't encountered a Springy Mushroom yet, there's an easy (and cheap!) shortcut to completing the quest.

Just turn around and head back into the village, and find the crafting vendor Anvin. If you're facing out from Galaxy Team HQ, Anvin occupies a shop to the right side, which has its own crafting table next to a wood pile. Anvin sells Springy Mushrooms for just 200g apiece, and you only need one to complete the quest.

Grab a Springy Mushroom, take it back to Morel, and he'll show you how to make a Mushroom Cake. That will complete the side quest, and to top it off, Morel will also give you five Cake-Lure Base items. Those can be used to make more Mushroom Cakes, along with other types of Pokemon bait.

According to the in-game description, "These cakes are potently effective at attracting the more monstrous Pokemon, as well as dragon Pokemon."

How To Assess the Quality of a Marijuana Bud

Just like all the fine things in life: wine, cigars, and diamonds: cannabis can also be measured in terms of quality. The sight, touch, taste, size, aroma, and sensation of a marijuana bud is all determined by the cleanliness of the air in which the plant grew, the composition of the soil, and the temperature shifts that it endured.

Knowing Quality Bud from Shwag

It's important to know the good quality stuff from the shwag. Whether you're a connoisseur or simply a novice; knowing how to assess the quality of a cannabis bud is necessary to have the best experience. If you want to know the telltale signs of top-shelf bud then read on.

Visually Inspect the Bud

Sometimes the only way to get an idea of the quality of a bud is by the way it looks. It is important to know the clues that will tell you how awesome the weed you're assessing is. One of the best visual ways to assess cannabis is by the trichome content. If the bud has loads of trichomes then you are sure to get a good buzz. Trichomes are the small crystal-looking resin glands that make the bud look frosty. These trichomes contain cannabinoids like THC and CBD.

bud

Another visual way to assess a cannabis bud is by its color. Healthy buds are usually nice and green, purple, or may even look orange depending on the pistils on the bud and the strain. When you smoke the bud, the ashes should burn white-grey ash.

Look For a Tight Trim

The trim of the flower should be done well. Look for a tight trim; extra leaf matter should have been removed so that the bud is fully revealed. Excess stems should also be removed and the only part of the stem that should be left is at the base of the flower where it was cut from the plant. Over-trimmed flowers should be avoided as this usually results in a lower trichome content.

How to Spot Mildew or Mold

When assessing a bud be sure to check for red flags. Powdery mildew can look like trichomes if you don't look closely. A bud should glisten in the light, but if it has mildew on it will not. If you see something like baby powder on it or a cottony appearance it's probably powdery mildew.

Another red flag and type of mold is botrytis (also known as bud rot). This mold is more difficult to see as it is inside the flower. It may not be until after you purchase the bud, go home, and start breaking it up that you notice that the bud has brown or grey mold inside. You mustn't smoke it.

Gently Squeeze the Bud

Touching the bud is another good way to assess its quality. When you gently squeeze the bud, it should bounce back to its original form. Squeezing the bud can also tell you if it has properly been cured. It should have a bit of a stickiness to it, but if it hasn't been cured correctly then it will feel too wet. The stem is another indicator of how well the bud has been cured. A properly cured stem will have a definite snap when you bend it.

Smell the Bud for Quality

One of my favorite ways to check the quality of a bud is by smelling it. It's an instinctive thing we all seem to do when you open a new bag of buds: you hold it up to your nose and inhale the sweet aroma. This can also tell you if a bud has mold on it, or if it smells wet then it hasn't been cured properly. Good quality marijuana will often smell skunky, pine, fruity, cheese, or earthy.

Taste the Bud

Lastly, you can taste if a bud is of high quality. Oftentimes, the aroma of bud will match the flavor. Just like a good liquor, the taste should be smooth. When you inhale the smoke, it shouldn't burn your throat; neither should it leave a harsh taste in the back of your throat.

In Conclusion

After reading this article you can easily be on your way to becoming a cannabis connoisseur. Next time you find yourself buying marijuana don't just settle for anything. Take the time to study the bud instead of choosing one based on whatever name sounds good to you. You will be impressed by the difference that quality bud makes.

Storm Reid joins the cast of HBO’s The Last of Us

Actor Storm Reid has revealed on Twitter that they have joined the cast of HBO’s The Last of Us and will be playing the character Riley Abel. I got some NEWS 🚨 Beyond excited to join the cast of #TheLastOfUs as Riley on @HBO. Let’s get to work. 🎬 2022 looking bright already 🕺🏽 pic.twitter.com/A1O9tg4Lna — Storm Reid (@stormreid) January 14, 2022 Storm has previously worked on the films 12 Years a Slave, The Invisible Man, The Suicide Squad, and also appeared in the music video for Family Feud by Jay-Z and Beyoncé. She is currently starring the hit HBO show Euphoria. If you are not familiar of the character of Riley Abel then perhaps that’s because she only appeared in The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC, although she is mentioned in the main game. She also appeared in The Last of Us: American Dreams, a comic series published by Dark Horse and written by The Last of Us lead writer Neil Druckmann. Riley has a rather dark back story; her father gets infected by the Cordyceps brain infection and then he precedes to rip her mother to shreds. Riley has to kill her father to save herself and ends up in a school for orphans. She later meets up with Ellie and they share their first kiss together. According the official HBO website for the show Storm is a guest star rather than a main cast member so she won’t be in every episode. That could indicate she only shows up in the first few episodes when Ellie and Joel are safe in the Quarantine Zone, or it could indicate she gets eaten alive by a walking fungus. Yum. The series will guest star Nico Parker (The Third Day) as Sarah, Joel’s 14-year old daughter, I wouldn’t give her much chance of surviving past the first ten minutes of episode one, along with Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) as Frank and Bill, the two friends of Joel who are met on the journey. Kantemir Balagov will be directing The Last of Us’ HBO pilot. His may not be a familiar name but he has had some success with his other projects. They include the Russian movie Beanpol, set in Leningrad during the year 1945. The city is in ruins and amongst it two women try to find their way, an near enough apocalyptic scenario and the aftermath of it and thematically similar in some ways to The Last of Us.
