Activision Promises To Fix Call Of Duty Amid Negative Feedback For Warzone And Vanguard

Activision has released a statement in which it acknowledged the frustrations some players are reporting across the suite of Call of Duty games, promising that fixes and improvements are coming.

Posting on Twitter, Activision said, "We hear you, and we feel your frustrations."

"Our teams are hard at work addressing the issues that are being experienced across Vanguard, Warzone, and Modern Warfare. Updates are being deployed as quickly as possible. We want everyone to have a seamless experience, no matter which games, game mode, or platform you play on," Activision said.

The company said player feedback is "critical" to the development process, and the company told fans to keep an eye out for upcoming changes.

For Warzone Pacific, Activision said it has a number of known issues it's investigating right now, including console performance across Xbox and PlayStation, as well as a bug causing some skins to appear as invisible. Developer Raven Software is also tracking an issue with freezes pertaining to Buy Stations.

For Vanguard, Sledgehammer said it will make further changes to weapons and equipment, while it will fix issues related to the Attack Dogs killstreak, as well as problems related to challenges. Sledgehammer added that it is working on fixes for party-disconnect issues with matchmaking and is looking to improve the diversity of map rotation. For Zombies, the long-awaited addition of a pause option is coming.

The Call of Duty series is expected to grow again in 2022 with the launch of Modern Warfare sequel from Infinity Ward reportedly focusing on Colombian drug cartels. Additionally, Activision's Solid State Studios is developing a new Call of Duty mobile game.

All of this is happening as Activision Blizzard faces a lawsuit from the state of California over alleged discrimination and sexual harassment of women.

Overwatch 2 LEGO set delayed due to Activision Blizzard allegations

LEGO is officially halting the release of a new Overwatch 2 themed set due to the sexual harassment allegations still orbiting the game’s publisher, Activision Blizzard. Originally, LEGO had planned to launch the first in its range of Overwatch 2 products next month. The Overwatch 2 Titan (76980) was due to hit shelves on February 1, 2022, though this is no longer the case. In a statement, LEGO explains the reason behind the delay: We are currently reviewing our partnership with Activision Blizzard, given concerns about the progress being made to address continuing allegations regarding workplace culture, especially the treatment of female colleagues and creating a diverse and inclusive environment. While we complete the review, we will pause the release of a LEGO Overwatch 2 product which was due to go on sale on February 1, 2022. Activision Blizzard is still mired in controversy following allegations of serious sexual harassment and assault, culminating in a lawsuit filed in July 2021. This has led to the high profile departure of senior employees and a tumble in share price, the company claiming that it will do better to improve its workplace culture. However, current and former staff have been vocal in saying that change hasn’t been felt, especially with Activision CEO Bobby Kotick still in charge. This isn’t the first time Overwatch has been effected by these ongoing allegations. Fan favourite hero, McCree, was renamed last year when character’s namesake, Jesse McCree, left Blizzard after photographs emerged implicating him in the ongoing DFEH investigation and lawsuit. Where is Overwatch 2? Overwatch 2 was announced a couple of years back at BlizzCon 2019. Currently, the game has no firm release date set though it’s expected to release some time in 2022. Development on the standalone sequel has undoubtedly been impacted by the ongoing pandemic crisis, as well as the fallout from the recent sexual harassment allegations and lawsuits. Featuring a roster of both new and returning heroes, Overwatch 2 will features additional competitive game modes as well as co-op missions and a much bigger emphasis on storytelling. Lego suspends release of Overwatch 2 set amid ongoing Activision Blizzard controversy

Lego has announced it is indefinitely suspending the release of its Overwatch 2 Titan set, initially scheduled to launch on 1st February, in light of ongoing concerns related to Activision Blizzard's workplace culture - which was described as a "breeding ground for harassment and discrimination against women" in a California State lawsuit launched last July.

The controversy surrounding Activision Blizzard has only deepened since then; November saw the release of a damning Wall Street Journal report detailing further alleged sexual harassment, assault, and inappropriate behaviour at the company - with the publication levying particular criticism at CEO Bobby Kotick, claiming he'd been aware of the allegations of sexual misconduct and mistreatment of female employees across the company "for years".

Call Of Duty: Warzone Players Keep Turning Invisible Thanks To These Skins

Call of Duty: Warzone has been a pretty rough experience recently, especially with pesky bugs causing various operator skins to go invisible. Developer Raven Software has tweeted awareness of the current issue, but no date is given for when these operation skins will be fixed.

Currently, players are reporting that specific operator skins for Wraith and Weaver from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are now going invisible in Warzone. A bug seems to be causing most of the body to disappear and leaving just a floating operator head when using either the "Disruptor" skin for Wraith or the "Dark Aether" skin for Weaver.

In a tweet on January 10, Raven Software says, "We are aware of the reports that certain skins are appearing invisible in Warzone. Please standby while we investigate this issue."

These invisibility issues follow after Raven Software released an update on January 5 to fix the "Awoken" operator skin for Francis, which is a Season 1 battle pass skin that was also bugged out to appear nearly invisible on Warzone's Caldera map. Hopefully, these new invisibility bugs can be squashed soon. The next major update for Call of Duty: Warzone is the Season 1 Reloaded content drop scheduled for January 11.

Call of Duty's seasonal content carries on as striking continues in protest of the surprise contract terminations within Raven Software's QA team. Activision Blizzard faces lawsuits and other investigations related to alleged sexual harassment and discrimination against women.
