Originally released in February last year for PC, Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King has mostly positive user reviews over on Steam — although it sounds like the game's been improved quite a bit since its initial build. It's coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 at some point in the first quarter of 2022 (soon, in other words).

Shattered's a combination of quite quick Souls-like combat, expansive environments, and even some platforming. You're also able to develop your character however you like, with different weapons and magical attacks up for grabs.

Okay, okay, we know what you're thinking. Another Castlevania-esque, pixel-filled, side-scrolling action RPG? We get it — it feels like a new one of these has released every other week for the past decade, but Infernax genuinely sounds pretty great (and it helps that our friends over at Nintendo Life have actually played it).

A brief summary from developer Berzerk Studio is all we needed: "What if the game remembered what you did, what if it had way too many secrets, what if it was also disgustingly gory; it’s all of those things. The story is all built on your decisions, and those decisions guide what upgrades you get, what quests become available to you."

Announced as a post-apocalyptic RPG from NEKCOM Games, this will conjure fond memories of those strange titles you used to find in GameStop’s bargain bins back in the day. It’s got character action combat, third-person zombie shooting, and gratuitous jiggle physics – it’s almost like it’s 2002 again!

The story setup is equally amusing: “Japan has bought out most of the United States with its strong economic power. A surge of immigration has firmly planted Japanese culture within the American continent. Two cultures are rapidly amalgamated, although conflicts are inevitable, citizens gradually adapt to a life never imagined as time goes by.”
