Through its digital radiography and ultrasound business, Boston Imaging, Samsung has introduced a new women’s health ultrasound system, the Hera W10 Elite, which offers visualisation features, artificial intelligence (AI)-aided tools and clinical applications for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
As the premier model of the HERA platform, the HERA W10 Elite provides 2D and 3D visualisations of microcirculatory and slow blood.
The ultrasound system has been updated from its predecessor in various aspects.
It now features an Advanced MV-Flow feature and a larger organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display that provides improved characterisation of diverse ultrasound images.
Boston Imaging women’s health ultrasound business leader Tracy Bury said: “Women’s health is a fast-growing field that requires state-of-the-art equipment for patient care. The HERA W10 Elite will bring visionary change to Obstetrics and Gynecology with sophisticated image processing and an ergonomic-friendly design.”
With its intuitive visualisations, precise analytic features and quick operation, the HERA W10 Elite is designed to provide greater diagnosis insight for clinicians.
Furthermore, the platform features a new transducer to allow visualisation of the fetal heart and brain endovaginally starting at eight weeks.
Enhanced AI features of the system include HeartAssist, ViewAssist and BiometryAssist.
The HeartAssist AI feature provides measurement results and can automatically classify an ultrasound image into measurement views that are needed for fetal heart diagnosis, while ViewAssist can classify ultrasound images and annotate structures to make measurement more convenient.
The BiometryAssist AI is designed to allow clinicians to measure parameters of fetal growth with a single click while still maintaining exam consistency.
