Rumor: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 planned for Switch, lineup revealed

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 was confirmed for Switch earlier this week, but Konami won’t be stopping there as Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is happening as well. This package is also apparently planned for Switch, and it looks like the lineup has been revealed.

Twitter user Nitroid discovered placeholder buttons within the official website’s source code. Specifically, these are for Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. IGN reports that the lineup here is accurate.

As for Switch, since Vol. 1 is already confirmed for the platform, Vol. 2 wouldn’t be out of the question as well. IGN says it’s “expected to launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch”.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 on is notable for a few reasons. For one thing, everything in that package has never been released on a Nintendo system previously. Metal Gear Solid 4 has also never been re-released anywhere after it originally came to the PlayStation 3 many years ago.

For now, fans can look forward to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. Switch owners can get their hands on it starting October 24, 2023.
