Pokemon Legends already got a patch

Date:

Version 1.01.

A Pokemon Legends patch? But the game isn’t even out yet! We’re a day before launch here and Nintendo has a stability-esque patch ready to go. All those people playing it early must be happy!

So if you’re picking it up on day one, these barebones patch notes (classic Nintendo) might actually benefit you. The company notes explain that the patch “fixed some problems for a better gaming experience,” which could be anything from quality of life fixes to bugs. In any case, we should in theory have a smoother experience playing it this weekend.

Pokemon Legends will sell, it’s already selling out in some cases/outlets, but the real test is how it’s received in the eyes of the public. Pokemon could benefit from an actual shakeup, but the big question is whether or not the Legends format is enough. Given how safe Sword and Shield were the bar has been lowered for many, but there are plenty of opportunities here to knock it out of the park.

In which case, could future mainline games use this same setup? It’s a fascinating time to be a Pokemon fan, that’s for sure.
