Open Mortgage, a national multi-channel mortgage lender, is proud to announce the appointment of Mike Hicks as its new National Director of Reverse Sales. This move comes as part of Open Mortgage’s commitment to strengthening its leadership and continuing to provide exceptional, award-winning reverse lending services to its valued partners and customers.
Having served in the reverse mortgage industry since 2009, Hicks brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his leadership role of Open Mortgage’s Reverse Division.
Prior to joining Open Mortgage, Hicks held the position of Reverse Mortgage Sales Manager at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, where he demonstrated remarkable leadership and a track record of delivering outstanding results.

Hicks has also held management roles at 1st Nations Reverse Mortgage, Willow Bend Mortgage Company, and 1st Reverse Mortgage USA and is a graduate of University of
Houston-Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science in General Business.
“Open Mortgage has really ramped up its reverse lending in recent years, and you can see it in the scorecard,” said Hicks. ”What excites me is the opportunity to come in and collaborate with a group of seasoned originators and deliver the training, tools, and support they need to take their business to the next level.”

Additionally, Open Mortgage extends its heartfelt appreciation to outgoing Director of Reverse Sales, Patty Wills, who retires after seven years of exemplary service at Open and a renowned 30-year career in the mortgage industry.
Wills began with Open Mortgage as a HECM Advisor to Financial Planners in 2016 and served in numerous roles since, having been promoted to her most recent title of
Director of Reverse Sales in March 2022. She also served on the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA) Board of Directors from 2015-20 and as the
President of her own brokerage, Retirement Life Funding, LLC, from 2007-16. She remains active in providing education throughout the reverse mortgage industry.
Wills leaves behind a legacy of exceptional leadership and we thank her for her outstanding contributions and dedication to the success of the division.
