The Team of the Year event is almost here, and we are set to see some insane cards arrive in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.

Voting for the Ultimate XI began on Monday, 10 January, so make sure to have your say on who makes this year’s squad.

The Ultimate XI is obviously the main draw of the promo, so find out everything you need to know about it below.

Team of the Year

The Team of the Year event is a huge one in the FUT calendar as it will bring heaps of new content to the game.

Not only does the community vote for their Ultimate XI from the past year of football, but there will also be loads of SBCs and Objectives to complete too.

TOTY Flashback and TOTY Moments are just two of the card types we have seen in the past, so we can’t wait to see if EA has anything new up their sleeve.

There could also be TOTY Honourable Mentions again, rewarding those who have narrowly missed out on the final squad.

Release Date

So far we don’t know when each set of cards will be added to packs, but we know when the voting will end which gives us an indication!

TOTY Schedule:

• Friday, 7 January – Forward Nominees revealed
• Saturday, 8 January – Midfield Nominees revealed
• Sunday, 9 January – Defender & Goalkeeper Nominees revealed
• Monday, 10 January – Voting begins

• Tuesday, 18 January – Voting closes

This suggests that the first Team of the Year cards will arrive in packs on Friday, 21 January, with the full Ultimate XI arriving in the following days.

Ultimate XI

The Ultimate XI is the best of the best. Only the top 11 players from the 80-man shortlist will feature with massive new ratings that will be among the best cards in the game.

To give you an idea of just how good these cards will be, Alphonso Davies was the lowest-rated Team of the Year player in FIFA 21.

The Bayern Munich star received a new 93 OVR card, which at the time made him the best left-back in the game.

Effectively, any Ultimate XI card you are lucky enough to pack will be useable for the duration of the FUT 22 cycle, so good luck!

Predictions

There are some bankers in the FIFA 22 Ultimate XI, namely Robert Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah.

However, on-field performances are not the only factor in who is selected in the TOTY promo.

This comes into effect with the 12th man too, and we expect Kylian Mbappe to feature during the TOTY promo in some capacity!
