Brisbane’s bayside has a new luxury residential development as the changing face of Wynnum/Manly continues to attract well-heeled seachangers.

Torre Developments is behind the landmark building in Chestnut Street, Wynnum, known as ‘Catalina Residences’, featuring 28 units with a mix of two and three bedrooms — each offering panoramic views of the bay.

Torre Developments director Frank Ferrari said the project would set a benchmark for quality apartments and amenity in the area.

“Catalina Residences bridges the gap between inner city and bayside lifestyle, offering a

sanctuary where residents can rejuvenate within the beauty of the bay while enjoying the

amenities and luxuries traditionally found in inner city apartments,” Mr Ferrari said.

“Quality is first and foremost, and that is evident in everything from the natural stone and

timber to the design and engineering inspired by the one of the world’s most awarded sailing

boats, the Catalina Yacht.

“With its sweeping curved white facades, balconies that wrap around its exteriors, timber

floors and welcoming warmly lit travertine lobby archway, it’s easy to see how the harbour

has influenced its design.”

Mr Ferrari said Catalina’s sustainability credentials were also impressive, with a six-leaf environment certification, EV chargers, rainwater tanks, sliding aluminium sunshades,

and double glazing.

“It is a first for the bayside,” he said.

YPM Group project marketing director Bryce O’Connor, who is marketing the project, said the suburbs of Wynnum and Manly had become popular among people looking to escape the pace of the inner-city and cost of living pressures.

“Catalina is facilitating the trend by attracting people who expect inner-city quality back to the

bayside area,” Mr O’Connor said.

“As well as attracting the sea-changers, Catalina is encouraging locals and coastal lovers to

stay in the area and upgrade to a better standard of living.”

Prices start from $1.1m.

“Catalina is generating some of the highest prices per sqm within the bayside area indicating

a proven demand for high quality developments,” Mr O’Connor said.
