Crisp white walls and laminate timber flooring characterise this freshly modernised 1930s Prospect home – so its bright bathroom comes as a real surprise.

Black and pink tiles with matching fixtures and basin are in stark contrast to the rest of the home at 58 Le Hunt Ave, but they make the bathroom a standout feature.

The home’s owners were considering replacing them as part of their renovations to sell but opted not to on the advice of Ray White North Adelaide director Rachel Lawrie.

Ms Lawrie, who is selling the property, said they made some changes – including resealing and re-grouting, as well as adding a new shower screen, tap ware and toilet – but the tiles were in good condition so it made sense to leave them.

“It was going to cost too much to do that reno for the sale, that’s why we chose to go that way,” she said.

“It didn’t look so daggy after the updates.”

Ms Lawrie said there was potential for the new owners to add a modern extension to house and if they did, the bathroom would likely be removed.

“The updates make it a really liveable home for someone until they decide what they want to do with it,” she said.

The two-bedroom home is on a 612.89sq m block and while updated, many of its original character features have been retained.

Ms Lawrie said it officially hit the market late on New Year’s Eve and she had received multiple inquiries within half an hour.

“From those looking for the allotment itself to those looking as an investment,” she said.

“I have second and third-home buyers, people looking to extend, I’ve got downsizers looking – pretty well everyone apart from first-home buyers.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to get into a suburb where prices have jumped significantly since Covid.”

According to latest PropTrack data, Prospect’s median house price is $1.05m after climbing 47.9 per cent over the past three years.

The property is scheduled to be auctioned at 6pm on January 23.
